Ladies Ministry Planning Meeting
- On Wednesday, September7

at 7:00 PM, all Cedar ladies are cordially invited to the home of Deb Grysen for the annual Women’s Ministry planning meeting.At this one hour meeting, each committee chairman will turn overher committee duties to her committee co-chairman, and then wewill select new co-chairs to assist each committee for 2011-2012.Please consider 2 or 3 ministries that might interest you so that youcan volunteer for an open slot. Our ministries include thefollowing: Bereavement, Correspondence, Girl’s Ministry, YouthGroup Food, Meals, Nursery, Refreshments, FellowshipLuncheon, Special Events, Women’s Bible Study, and Women’sMinistry Coordinator.

Cedar session wouldrequest that the congregation reserve the final two rows of chairsin the gymnasium for visitors, late comers and families with smallchildren. We hope this helps us serve the needs of our growingchurch family as we worship Christ together.

Catechism Club

grade. Catechism is designed to teachkids the basics about the Christian faith through simplequestions and answers. We will promote memorizationusing Bible teaching, music, skits, crafts, activities, andmore.
 
Cadets
We have a great boys club called
Cadets
, led byElder Ted Himebook, Tom Dykema, Jim Knott and CraigColeman. Boys 3

grade and up will meet together forexploring, projects, meeting new friends, Bible study,outings and much more.
 
Girl's Club – Girls Club (for girls 3
rd
grade and up) willresume this year under the leadership of Pam Himebook and Carin Hartwell. Friendship, crafts, and activities willaccompany a great time of Bible Study and prayer.

FALL MINISTRIES AT CEDARJr. High & Sr. High Youth Group
– Beginning September 18

Sunday in the schoolgymnasium after evening worship from 7:00 to 8:15 PM for food,fellowship and fun together. The purpose of this ministry is todisciple youth, strengthen relationships among youth & with adults,and to assimilate young people into the faith and life of CedarChurch.

LOVE, Inc
. – This year, Cedar Church will now host several studiesat Love Inc each week, a Bible study and a discipleship class. Wemeet with Love Inc. clients from 7 to 8 PM at Hillcrest CRC inHudsonville. The elders would like to encourage members of Cedarto volunteer as both teachers and Financial Counselors. For moreinformation about training, please see Pastor Steve.
Holland Rescue Mission
– Cedar Church hosts a monthly worshipservice every other 1
st
Thursday at 7 PM at the Holland RescueMission. The service involves teaching or preaching, as well asspecial music and testimony. Please see Dean Bekkering for moreinformation.
Sunday Jail Ministry
- Every 5
th
Sunday, Cedar Church will host aSunday service at the Kent County Jail from 12:45 PM - 2:15 PM.Several times a year, we will also host a service at the Ottawa CountyJail from 1:45 PM – 3:00PM. For more information, see Pastor Steveor Elder David Van Dyke.
