Subject: Application for the position of C++ Software Engineer at ERDAS. I am Rohit Vijay Bapat, a graduate student in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department at Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly University of Missouri, Rolla MO). I am graduating in August 2011. Since I have done previous job in computational fluid dynamics and current research in areas such as, virtual reality applications with tracking system, digital signal processing and computer graphics which include extensive application of C++, OpenGL , CAD softwares and Studio modeling softwares, I am very much interested in position as a C++ Software Engineer at ERDAS. I was always fascinated by computer application development. Since high school I have learnt a variety of computer languages and CAD softwares. After completing under graduation in Mechanical I joined TATA Consultancy Services, a software solution provider. I was working on projects dealing with database management of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) data. I am well versed with professional computer application development. I am fluent in applying OpenGL, VTK and OpenSceneGraph for scientific and graphical visualizations. I have knowledge of studio softwares such as Autodesk 3DS Max, Maya for virtual environment creation. Hence I believe that I would be able to apply my knowledge to the best of my abilities in achieving maximum throughput for the company and also add to my existing knowledge.
