You have to understand the basics oflog home designsin order to choose one that suitsyour needs perfectly. Designing your log home will be a welcome challenge if you wishto involve yourself in the creative process, once you have mastered these basics of homedesigns-
1. The characterof the log utilized:
Contrary to what youmight think, logs do notcome solely in straightshapes. They might be D-shaped, round, square,rectangular, or Swedishcope style. These are thebasic shapes that will beused to build your log home. The D-shaped logs have three sides that are rounded andone side is flattened. The Swedish cope log has a bit of the lower portion of the logchiseled out so that it can be set properly.
2. The type of the logutilized:
You should know about the pros andcons of all the wood types you wish to usefor your home designs. Rest assured youwon’t be able to choose something that’ll beperfect. Instead, you must realize that everyspecies of wood has something going for it.You could choose cedar, cypress, hemlock,Douglas fir, spruce, oak, yellow pine andwhite pine. If the building and maintenanceprocesses are done correctly, then youwould be able to enjoy the comforts of yourlog home for a long time without anydoubt.
