SBLI Student Cultural Exchange Group

Through the Saipan Business Language Institute (SBLI), a group of 90 students from Japan will be on Saipan from November 9 14, 2011 to learn and experience Saipans local lifestyle, culture, custom and language. During their stay, they will be engaged in many activities including visiting our Manamko Center, American Memorial Park Museum, a local school, Managaha Island and staying with a local family. Hosting an exchange student will surely be a rewarding and an educational experience for all family members. Because of technology (computers, internet, cell phones, etc.) local families are able to keep in better contact with the child they hosted and continue to build a closer relationship. This is precisely what a Student Cultural Exchange Program creates: long lasting relationships. As we continue to pray for the speedy recovery of Japan and the families of victims of the devastating earthquake and tsunami, let us welcome these children into our homes for two (2) nights and show them our island hospitality. Taking a tour down to Marpi, Mount Tapochao, Santa Lourdes or simply having the island style BBQ with family and friends are just some of the many ways host families can make a students experience special and memorable. In appreciation of your hospitality, SBLI will be giving a monetary gift of $140.00 ($35/student per night) to each family for hosting two (2) students. The schedule is as follows: Friday, November 11, 2011- 4:00 PM- Pick up students @ Grand Hotel Saturday, November 12, 2011- Students spend all day with host family Sunday, November 13, 2011- 9:00 AM- Drop students back to Grand Hotel 6:00 PM- Farewell BBQ dinner @Grand Hotel w/students & host families
