Sponsored by Itravel2000 and the BodyShop, Ms. Balfour’s platform is focus on raising awareness – both through financialsupport and educational efforts – on the plight of LGBT homeless youth and personsliving with HIV/AIDS. An avid supporter of the LGBT community, as Empress, Dustyhas outlined a reign that will focus on two critical Toronto-based charities –Supporting Our Youth (www.soytoronto.org) and People with AIDS Foundation(www.pwatoronto.org).“Since 1965, the International Court System has raised awareness and millions of dollars to LGBT and education-related charities that have a positive impact on thelives of everyday people across North America. She has held the titlesof Miss Trillium 2007, Miss International Pride 2008, and Ms. Niagara Pride 2009 and2010. During her run for Miss Trillium 2007, Dusty broke records by raising thelargest amount of charitable contributions for that position – bringing new life andrecognition to the struggles of the LGBT community. Realizing the importance of the role of diversity in Toronto’s LGBT community, Dusty has also been honored tohold the title of Mr. Churchmouse and Firkin Leather. “I’m thankful for the supportI’ve received already in this campaign.
