FIRST GENERATION COLLEGE STUDENT MENTOR PROGRAM


Are you the first in your family to attend college? Would you like to enter into a mentorship with an alumnus who was also the first in their family to attend college? The USC Career Center invites you to participate in our First Generation College Student Mentor Program. This program will provide real world exposure to the working world through a mentorship that focuses on professional and career development. Students will be paired with USC alumni who also are first generation college students. Completed applications must be turned in to the Career Center Internship Programs office by 5:00 pm on September 16, 2011.

DIVERSITY NETWORKING MIXER


The Career Center invites you to attend our fall Diversity Networking Mixer on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 6-8pm in our Lounge (STU 110). We are committed to facilitating an understanding and appreciation of diversity within the Trojan community. NEED COURSE CREDIT FOR AN UNPAID INTERNSHIP?


Federal Labor Law requires that students participating in an internship must either A) be paid by the employer; or, B) be enrolled in an internship for-credit course. Do you have an unpaid internship and need course credit? If so, register for one of USCs 15+ internship courses. For a full list of internship courses offered visit the Career Centers website, http://careers.usc.edu or stop by our office in STU B1. F-1 international students participating in a paid internship are required to receive Curricular Practical Training (CPT) authorization from OIS which requires enrolling in an internship course at USC. F-1

international students participating in an unpaid internship should contact OIS for more details regarding work authorization requirements.

PAID INTERNSHIPS
Allied Integrated Marketing Strategic Alliances & Branded Entertainment Intern Work closely with the Strategic Alliance and Branded Entertainment division of Allied Integrated Marketing to develop Partnerships Marketing/Promotions service offering, including: Develop and maintain relationships with studios and other entertainment content providers; Develop and maintain relationships with consumer brand companies; Design and pitch implementation of national promotional campaigns to meet both entertainment and brand client objectives; Work with existing and new entertainment and brand relationships to introduce Allieds marketing capabilities outside of entertainment promotions. Internship Specific Duties: Create presentations highlighting clients film or brand offerings; Attend meetings with clients to better understand marketing and promotions; Search the web, and update team, regarding clients latest offerings (e.g. a new film or product release), as well as competitive activities; Update status reports and agendas highlighting information learned in meetings; Work closely with team to set up meetings including decorating room, creating goody bags, designing presentation look and feel, etc; Participate in brainstorm meetings in an effort to create creative executions for brand partnerships. mOcean Graphic Design Interns

mOcean is looking for (2) motion graphics interns for the fall semester. You will be working in either our West LA location or Burbank--working with great teams on some high profile projects. Looking for junior and senior level in college, as well as graduates. Candidates must be: Fluent in CS5 photoshop, illustrator, after effects; working knowledge of Cinema 4D; knowledge of Maya is a huge plus; typographic knowledge; must be able to work at least 2 days a week; great time management skills; must have a great attitude. Sony Pictures Imageworks Fall Internship

Sony Pictures Imageworks has immediate openings for paid Interns to work in the (Computer/Technology) Systems Group in our Culver City facility. Duties and responsibilities include but will not be limited to the following: Moving/relocating systems and peripherals; Organizing in-house inventory of parts/computers/peripherals; Scrubbing disks; Monitor distributions and calibrations; Reviewing outstanding HelpDesk tickets and following up on them; Help update documentation for Systems in-house "Wikipedia" pages for various processes and procedures; Depending on skill set/background could be used for some Level 1 troubleshooting and/or configuration of systems. TMZ Journalism and Television Production Interns

TMZ on TV, TMZ.com, and TooFab.com are currently accepting applications for interns for the Fall 2011 semester. Applicants must receive class credit in order to qualify for the program. This is a paid internship. Students who apply must have a passion for entertainment news, be familiar with current events and pop culture, and be eager to learn and work hard. There are several positions available within the following departments: Assignment Desk, Photo Gallery & Clearances, Publicity, and Post Production. Positions will be given out based on merit. Alchemy Entertainment Fall Internship

We produced the Warner Bros./New Line feature 17 AGAIN. We are also currently in development on several other features. Our management/production company is looking for interns to help out around the office. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting the Development Executive, reading scripts and writing coverage, answering phones and daily office tasks. Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university. Proficient in using a computer. Highly motivated, independent and organized. I am looking for interns for the Fall semester. During your internship you will be involved in all aspects of hospitality management and restaurant operations. This is an opportunity for anyone who has ever considered opening their own restaurant or who wants to challenge their entrepreneurial spirit. The ideal candidate will be creative, outgoing and possess a strong attention to detail. You will be involved in guest relations from your very first day on the job. We are a neighborhood restaurant and take great pride in our place within the community. During your time with us you will develop a knowledge of menu design, chef driven kitchen operations and, participate in tastings of spirits, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages. City Year Marketing & Research Interns

Game Show Network Business & Legal Affairs Internship

The primary learning objectives for this internship is to learn protocols of communication and how important information is managed in legal and business affairs. Intern will understand the business implications of deal terms. They will understand the contract administration process. Also, they will gain familiarity and experience with a wide range of business issues in entertainment, and gain office skills for use in legal and business affairs work. Specific tasks and projects: Assisting in managing information contained in GSN's agreements, and GSN's compliance with agreement requirements; typing agreements and correspondence, following up on matters as requested. Possible trademark and copyright work compiling status and research; Comparing documents for deal terms. And, depending on the skill level, reviewing agreements and compiling rights exploitation information. Interns will help update files and keep them current. Help keep production files up to date. Subject to attorney approval, occasional phone calls with GSN online subsidiary executives. Student may be invited to other meetings as permitted by department head, possibly programming status meeting and business affairs meeting. Specific tasks and projects: Intern will update project management online request system, research on materials, premiums, photography and inspiration, organize all campaigns and creative assets, GSN upfront, project management and execution of sales presentation materials and competitive analysis on research and collecting competitive brand and TV/creative campaigns. Game Show Network Distribution & Affiliate Marketing Internship

The primary learning objectives for this internship is to provide and develop an in-depth understanding of

the affiliate sales and marketing functions at GSN. Students will learn to understand the tools and tactics used in developing promotions to drive value with affiliates. Specific tasks and projects: Position includes assisting the Administration of Affiliate Marketing and Affiliate Sales initiatives; Assisting with project management and reporting, organizing corporate meetings, trade shows and special events. Interns will occasionally have the opportunity to accompany sales staff to daytime Affiliate events to handle event logistics; Lifting, packing and loading exhibit materials. Interns will assist in updating and coordination of print and video presentations used at trade shows and meetings; Work with Creative Services, On-Air, On-Line, and Research departments to gather marketing materials and presentations for the sales group. Will organize GSN sales materials, tapes, and premium inventory items for sales group; Update and post content on GSN affiliate website. Interns will assist with affiliate promotions fulfillment of prizing, sell-in materials, and tracking; assist in delivering invoices and expense reports to finance. Game Show Network Programming & Production Internship

The primary learning objectives for this internship is to provide a well rounded experience in the Programming department to learn how the various entities work with each other to create a unique network identity. Students will be invited to the Programming department meetings, development and pitch meetings and Business & Legal Affairs meetings. Students will be exposed to Marketing, Business & Legal Affairs, Public Relations and Digital departments. Specific tasks and projects: Students will assist in maintaining the pitch and passed pitch logs; assist in updating the competitive report; read and research trade publications and other periodicals for trends and interesting stories; assist talent department in researching potential talent online; assist with production and scheduling, as needed; develop and present their own unique idea (will be a final project). Student will be invited to the programming department meetings, development and pitch meetings and Business & Legal Affairs meetings. The Los Angeles County District Attorneys Office High Technology Crime Division is responsible for the investigation and vertical prosecution of technology related crimes within our region. Our case load

includes network intrusion (hacking), identity theft and access card fraud, theft of trade secrets and intellectual property, counterfeiting, theft of telecommunications services, money laundering and child exploitation on the Internet. Interns will work on meaningful projects in the following areas: System hardening and administration (Linux / OS X); Knowledge and data mining systems for criminal investigation and prosecution; Workflow and collaboration tools; Cryptography and distributed processing; Computer systems security, compliance, and auditing; Penetration testing. Qualifications: Skills relevant to one or more of the topics listed above; Proof of U.S. citizenship or lawful residency; Criminal background investigation; Minimum commitment of 12 hours per week; Current or matriculating undergraduate or graduate student. Teaching is a vital part of our mission. Our multimedia educational materials are used nationally and internationally to train police officers, criminal prosecutors, and forensic examiners. The Division is accepting applications for our graphic design internship program. All positions are volunteer or for academic credit. Interns will design and realize meaningful projects such as courtroom exhibits, video podcasts, animated presentations, web and GUI design, and interactive teaching materials. Our graphics lab is equipped with loaded Mac Pro workstations, dual cinema displays, and Adobe CS 5.5. Qualifications: Proof of U.S. citizenship or lawful residency (permanent residency not required); Criminal background investigation; Minimum commitment of 12 hours per week; Current or matriculating undergraduate or graduate student. The USC Campus Founder will work directly with the Marketing Team. The role includes organizing promo events and developing and executing marketing campaigns.
