How to Delete or Withdraw an Application
 To Delete an Application in Draft Status
1.
 
Go to the https://oscar.uscourts.gov/ website, enter your OSCAR username and password, and click the
Go
button.

You can view your applications, whether Draft, Finalized, or Withdrawn, on the MyApplications tab in the main menu bar. Move your mouse cursor over the tab andchoose
Clerkship Applications
or
Staff Attorney Applications
from the menu thatappears.

Applicants can
delete
an application at any time
before
it is finalized and releasedto a judge or staff attorney office. After deleting an application, you can re-apply to theposition at any time before the close date. If you wish to remove an application thathas already been finalized, you must use the
withdraw
function. OSCAR willautomatically delete the application from the judge or staff attorney office list, and youwill see the icon displayed in your My Applications tab.
Note:
You will
not
be ableto re-apply to a position after withdrawing an application.

Locate the application you wish to delete in the list and click the
Delete
button underthe Options column. The
Delete
button will not be available unless this application isstill in Draft status, displaying the icon in the Status column.

A pop-up warning will ask, “
Are you sure you wish to delete thisapplication? This application is not yet viewable by the judge. Youmay build a new application if you choose.
” Click
OK
to delete theapplication.

Your application will now be removed from the applications list. Any recommendationletters associated with the application will be lost. If you do recreate the application,you will need to generate new recommendation requests.

 To Withdraw a Finalized Application
1.
 
Move your mouse cursor over the My Applications tab and choose
ClerkshipApplications
or
Staff Attorney Applications
from the menu that appears.

Locate the application you wish to withdraw in the list and click the
Withdraw
buttonunder the options column. The
Withdraw
button will not be available unless thisapplication has been finalized and released to the judge, displaying the icon in theStatus column.

A pop-up warning will ask, “
Are you sure you wish to withdraw thisapplication? This application is already viewable by the judge. Youwill not be able to resubmit it.
” Click
OK
to withdraw the application.
