Some of the biggest names in the world of public relations will convene atLeeds Metropolitan later this week as the university hosts the EuropeanPublic Relations Education and Research Association (EUPRERA) AnnualCongress 2011.Michael Murphy, Global CEO of Grayling and Jane Wilson, CEO of theChartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) are among the speakers on theprogramme, which includes:
• Robert Hastings: Former 
senior official, US Department of Defense, andcurrently Senior VP Communications for Bell Helicopter, on the principles ofstrategic communications.
• Michael Murphy: Global CEO of Grayling, the world’s second largest
independent PR consultancy, on the future of consultancy practice.
• Professor Dr Joep Cornelissen, VU University Amsterdam, on Corporate
Communication, Leadership and the Future of PR.
• Professor Dr David McKie, Waikato Management School, New Zealand;
artful approaches and science strategies for tempestuous times.
• Jane Wilson, CEO of the
Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), willhold a Q&A session with an international panel of practitioners andacademics.The conference, which will be held at the Rose Bowl, will focus on the notion
of ‘Public Relations in a time of turbulence’ and runs from 8
- 10 September.
