lives, we must lessen the use of it because it contributes to laziness, it violates ones privacy, it invents dangerous things, it consumes a lot of energy, and it shortens our lives.

Information Technology Everywhere

Information technology is the technology involving the development, maintenance, and the use of computer systems, software and networks for the processing and distribution of data. Information technology has many benefits in our lives like it prevents error; it decreases the amount of paper works, it creates products faster, it helps us save more time, it helps us access more information easily, it helps us communicate faster, cheaper and more efficient, and many more. Although information technology is beneficial in our lives, we must lessen its use because it contributes to laziness, it violates ones privacy, it invents dangerous things, it consumes a lot of energy, and it shortens our lives. Information technology has made our life more comfortable because we can access information easily and it can help us save more time, but it contributes to our laziness. One example of this is that when a student has a research in school, all hes going to do is type the word in the internet and hell copy-paste the information and prints it, rather than hell borrow books from the library and reads it one by one. Moreover this could be a harder way than typing the word in the internet and print it. Thats one of the reasons why we must reduce the use of information technology, as a result of were getting lazy and the importance of books in our lives is slowly fading away. Information technology also helps us in communicating with our friends and relatives who are far from us. Despite the fact that it helped us in getting in touch with our friends and family easily, it doesnt mean that we have privacy in our lives and it is safe for us. Considering that we posted something

in a social networking site, it would be seen or read by a lot of people and we cant say that all of these people are good, for sure one person from those people is a bad person. And this bad person would tend to do something bad to you, if they saw some important information from your social networking sites that may result to something good for him/her. This is another factor why we should minimize the use of information technology for the reason that the privacy of a person is being violated. Information technology also helped us in discovering new medicines to cure different sicknesses like different kinds of cancer, diabetes, allergies, kidney stones, and many more. Yet information technology also shortens our life span due to the radiation it emits. According to Merriam-Webster, radiation is the combined process of emission, transmission and absorption of radiant energy. Radiation is dangerous because it has bad effects in our body. For example if we are exposed to so much radiation, our nerve cells and small blood vessels will slowly die. And it could cause seizures and immediate death. This is just an example and there are many more examples of the bad effects of radiation (Effects of radiation on the Human Body). So, I say that we need to stop using information technology to lessen the people getting sick and dying because of radiation being emitted by information technology. Information technology helped us again to invent new things, and these new inventions that we have are robots that can act like a human, more hightech computers, tablets, medical mirror, point and print, silicon saver, and many more. However, some people use information technology to invent things that are destructive like different kind of bombs, nuclear, weapons, and many more. These dangerous inventions can be a cause of peoples death if

it was used improperly. This is another reason why we need to reduce the usage of information technology, so that the inventions of dangerous things would be lessened. Information technology helped us to produce products in a short time. However it consumes a lot of energy and makes a lot of pollution in our environment. For example, factories emit smoke. These smokes contain gases that affect the air, especially the ozone layer. As a result, people would suffer from sickness like cancers. Another disadvantage is that information technology is one of the factors why people are losing their jobs. The main reason is that technology can produce products faster and in a shorter time than any other human being. Thats why we need to minimize the use of information technology to lessen the usage of energy, to lessen the pollution in our environment and to decrease the number of unemployment around the world (Some advantages and disadvantages of information technology). In conclusion, I believe that information technology is not just favourable to us in our daily lives but also unrewarding. Unrewarding since it contributes to laziness, it violates ones privacy, it shortens our lives, it invents dangerous things, and it consumes a lot of energy. These are just some reasons why information technology is unrewarding. So, we need to limit the usage of information technology to avoid the unrewarding effects of it.
