Junior Enlisted Association September meeting minutes September 7th 2011 from 11:30 to 12:45

*First off, we would like to thank everyone who participated in the Oak Brook volunteer setup, good job! Also, we had 25 sailors who attended the meeting, which was amazing! Also we would like to thank everyone who was involved with the Krispy Kreme sale. We had a wonderful time pushing the doughnuts and made a substantial amount for the JEA fund. Volunteering Opportunities *Habitat for Humanity on September 30th, time and location to be determined *Chicago Marathon on October 9th, meeting at the visitors center at 7am. Currently looking for 60 volunteers to help as Finish line buffers, (Basically helping the pedestrian traffic move along past the finish line). A light lunch will be provided along with a Jacket for volunteers. Fund Raising *Taco Rice sale scheduled for Tuesday, October 4th. Details to follow. JEA Members *JEA Tee-Shirts designed by HM2 Ko. Pricing is being discussed and will be put out via email once the finalizations are complete. *JEA Cook out and meet/greet of new officers will be held at Nunn Beach on main side on Friday, September 23rd from 1100-1300 at the pavillions *JEA outings were discussed about the following possibilities: ~Navy Pier ~Blue Man Group ~visiting a haunted house If you are interested in any of these please let one of the officers or your Point of contact know. Misc Nominations were given, along with speeches for those running for officer positions of the JEA. Ballots to follow
