Miami, Florida.- FloridaInternational University alumnus,Jesus Manuel Rojas Torres M.S’05will travel this week to Shanghai,China to cover the inauguralAmerican Pavilion, Shanghai ArtFair 2011.Rojas Torres, a Venezuelan-bornInternationalist & Blogger based inMiami since 1995, is the Founder & Publisher for What’s UpMiami?, the forward-looking art &culture blog and for La Columnade Jesus, an artistic blog abouthuman consciousness andspirituality.Rojas Torres’ first experience as agraduate student of Journalism wasin 2005 when he partnered withMiami-based artist Sinuhe VegaLeiter and with former business partner, Ben Bela Abounassif tocreate Leiter Gallery, an art spacelocated in Belle Meade outside thearts circuits of Miami.The creative trio of professionalssuccessfully produced exhibitionssuch as“Cachao & Friends”a photographic exhibition by MiamiHerald’s Carl P. Juste to honor thelate Mambo King. Other unprecedented visual artexperiences followed such as “TheArt of Living,” and the “Unveilingof the Sculpture Garden.”In less than a year, such artisticinvolvements allowed Ben BelaAbounassif to start creating his ownart and Rojas Torres eventuallystarted to produce art events inalternative spaces such as “Art After Dark & Experimental Innovators” during April 2008 Wynwood ArtsWalk.In November 2009, Rojas Torrescreated “What’s Up Miami?” to promote Abounassif’s soloexhibition atICON South Beach during Art Basel Week.
