Communication is the process of passing information that results in understanding of the message . It is a process which is dynamic, constantly changing and far from being static.

Lets take a simple example of such a breakdown:

In XYZ Co., Branch manager called to the head department to report his monthly progress (via telephone). The message was, our branch has achieved the target of eleven thousand customers.(encoding) (After decoding ) Head officer received the message as, our brach has achieved the target of seven thousand customers.

Now the above communication was a telephonic conversation where lots of time voice is not clear or different noise comes in between due to which the receiver has not received proper message. Here on the basis of monthly report head office provides commission to the branch offices. Due to the miscommunication or communication breakdown branch office will receive less amount of commission .

From the above example we can see, good communication is extremely vital and valuable for the smooth operation in an organization . A vast majority of problems in business are caused by ineffective communication in one form or another. Businesses are usually human-focused and therefore the value of good communications cannot be estimated.
