This booklet documents the view of women in Islamic scripture. It is clear from Mohammed's words, deeds and actions that he truly did see women as "dogs" to abuse. I'm not sure if Sha just ignored the actual scriptural quotations in this book or didn't even get that far. But it saddens me that some women in Islam don't bother to read their own scripture to see how it encourages the abuse of women and girls in Islamic countries that abide by strict Sharia Law.
While I am glad that not all Muslims actually follow the horrid doctrinal misogyny embedded in the Quran, that does not excuse turning a blind eye to it. This is a serious human rights issue and not one that should be ignored or laughed off.
Seems the person confusing religion and culture here is the reviewer below (Sha) - she benefits from being treated well as a woman precisely because she lives in a multicultural society - she is free because of her culture, not because of her religion (Islam). If she had grown up in an orthodox Islamic society, her life would have been totally different.
