All of this is a bunch of crap if you ask me, he wants to give all of the money to these rich people and let them keep their jobs, while te little people who live from pay check to paycheck with house payments and kids and everything else are losing their jobs. my husband got layed off from exide in bristol along with 566 other people. there are no places hiring around here. Everybody is laying off or shutting the doors. What good is it going to do to give to banks and stuff if no one has money to buy stuff or make payments they are going to end up right back in the same place. what are these people tinking. We have no idea how we are going to be able to make it, we were told we couldn't get tenn care for insurance because he was offered insurance, but the unemployment isn't even going to be enough to pay all of our bills. we have been really responsible people no credit cards, just house payment and car payment plus our other regular bills. So what are we suposed to do it ain't like we can just pick up and move, and we can't raise our children without money.

All I want to know is when will the legislation be past so I can use some of my 401K without the penalty. If they wait to long to approve such a proposal it may be to late for some that could of saved there homes, family, children and pets from a situation they do not want to be put in. This financial crisis was all caused by a bunch of greedie bastards I believe there should be a law passed that allows the goverement to go after greedie bastards and put them in jail when they cause such a world wide problem if you can go after Bernie Madoff you sure should be able to go after the greedie bastards who ruin 100 times more lives than Bernie Madoff ever did they make Bernie look like an amature.

I would like to see laws put in place not only to help whats going on but to make people responsible for such financial destruction of so much of their lives

where do I get help? I had a private small company that bought first mortgages, allowing the person to pay interest only on a balloon payment. This was esp. helpful to the person that had credit issues but would be out of the woods in 5 to 7 years...I had to close the business. Everything I made went right back in other than that which paid my home mortgage! Now what do I do? I had to close the business, I have no way to pay my house pymt. so I pay my other bills and keep the groc. and electric, now I've been served my 20 day notice to foreclose...where do I go? I get some alimony and part of ex-husband retirement..but I was a stay at home mom for 24 years....where do I go? If I made the house pymt. 3/4 of my income would be gone, I have no ins. anymore...

I pay all my bills on tiem and I am being told that all the interest ratest on all my cards wil be going up considerablely.Anywhere from 5 to 10 % a month. Great balls of fire just who is getting this bail out it sure is not the taxpayer. What a grand dang mess this is getting to be. Fire the guys who have created this mess and do not tell me you need them because I can asure you I can handle the job. Just give me a adding maching and a red pencil and I will fire one bunch of misfits that has aver acome down the pike.

i had to do a hardship on my ira to purchase a home i believe hard ship withdrawls should be forgiven. from penalities and intrest as well as taxes my circumstances were my daughter was diagnosised with hashimotos encephology had to have brain surgery she and my 3 grandchildren live with me and i am the only income supporting 5 the irs is killing me i may lose everything and it was my money i used not fair. just give us a break please

I got layoff 6 weeks ago, my husband doesn't have job. We are paying our house. I aplied for help to prevent forclosure then the company loan request me information that i sent them. The customer sevice told me that I have to show them income ( my Unemployee insurance) and they got my expenses and all they need. AND SORPRISE FOR ME!!!! acording to them I dont qualify because we have unvariable interest rate. Now who can tel me? Why the presidente package cant help us? its not working for me? I still paying the loan and I dont know until when. its this help only for an specific group of people?, I am not in risck to loose my house?, and what will happend when my insurance benefit ends?. My family and I have to go to the strret? and the COUNTRYWIDE BANK WILL HAVE MY HOUSE. Oh my God the laws are protecting this big companies, they got from every one lots of money and when we need help they dont do anything. That's fear? where is the justice?

I do not understand Barack Obama's helping small buisness plan. As a small buisness I can not afford to hire on any new emploees so I can get the tax cuts.This system is not any better than the Bush Admin.

my son just got kicked off his social securiiy, He's been disabeled all his life and raising a 7 yr old daughter. He WILL DIE without his medication. He and his daughter will be out in the streets, I'm in a retirement community so they can't come here. Was this your PLAN mr. pres.? This must be the beginning of armagetton

Hi NJUT: So many of us can relate to what you are saying. Responsible employees who are homeowners, parents, pet and automobile owners who have debt but make regular payments toward them are the one cut out of the pie first. We pay the most in taxes with the least amount of deductions and our salary is dependant on an employer unless we are a self employed. I have concluded

I don't have the time to tell all the stories of family and friends, all decent people, who are prime examples of our middle class under attack. More needs to be done to help us fend off unscrupulous credit card lenders (okay, they're fighting for survival too, but is it okay to simply double or triple monthly minimum payments on loyal, responsible customers who pay their bills on time?). I keep waiting for a grassroots revolution where we all default on the credit card companies that are treating us like this. Not to mention the usury and unscrupulous practices of private student loan lenders. One mistake and a default with 30% interest for a few years and your life is over. I know too many in this situation. The USA needs to start showing an interest in investing in the education of the next generation and rewarding those who are ambitious enough to go to college or the equivalent instead of making money off of them. I too wonder if anyone in the administration will read this at all. I know there are so many crises going on. Class warfare started in 1980 with Reagan and the middle class has gone under. I don't know what can be done to save the middle class, but I support all efforts to do so and to fend off the supporters of the elitist conservative ideology that has brought us to this abyss. SAVE THE MIDDLE CLASS!!! HELP!!!

Sadly GT; I don't think anyone from the administration reads this. I totally understand your situation and can only imagine how torn you are. No advice anyone can give you will make your situation any better. However, you may try to rent the home to a state facility for DD or handicapped adults. They typically have funding to place them in independant living special needs adults try hard to emulate normalacy. They also have case managers to monitor them. The home may need some adaptions but the state funds that too as it depends on the client's needs. Just a thought.

Just trying to find some help. my husband transfered due to job reasons March 2008 and we have had our house for sale since then. he ives in anothr state and I stay back here in Florida with our 2 boys and try to give them hope. They really miss their dad and it is crucial that we all become a family again. At this point we have kept our mortgage up and also paid to rent my husband an apartment in another state, but needless to say this may not work out much longer for us. Somewhere we have to draw the line and do what is right for our boys and not for the pitty of another foreclosure in our area. It is ashame that we may have to let our credit go on these basis, but I am not seeing any hope. We are going to try to hold on until the end of May when school is out, but after that someone may get a great deal right here in sunny Florida. If you have any ides were we can go please direct us in that direction. Just think of us when you put your girls to bed and you are able to have date night while having the biggest job in America. Thanks, JUST TRYING TO DO THE RIGHT THING........... : (

I HOPE THEY READ THIS!!!

In Minnesota we have two people fighting over one senate seat. Government could do job cut backs by eliminating 1 seat in the senate and house from each state. Think how much money the tax payers would save by the government job cuts. The ones that do the most good for each state could stay. Right now Minnesota is only running on one Senator. And she is doing a good Job of filling both positions.

I agree Frank; I find it appalling that so many poiticians don't pay their taxes until they are up for promotion.
Don't they get letters in the mail from IRS like you and I do? Don't leins against their property get placed? Why didn't President Obama insist that Geitner step down???? Does anyone from the administration read these posts????

I thought our new goverment was supose to be trasparent why can we not see a complete version of stimulas package on their web sites i don't want their opinion i want to see it all whit my own eyes what are they hiding this time Like all these problems started with our economy when gas started going through the roof but politicians did not notice it because they don't pay for their gas they keep saying where not in a recession but when it hit wall street and their pockets it did not take them long to change their minds change would be when politicians where accountable for their wasteful ways.When was the last time you forgot to pay thousands of dollars in taxes for the average Joe the IRS has a retarment home for him it is called a federal prison but not for politicians they just forgot.I though ignorance was no excuse for breaking the law.I am sorry Mr. Obama but 1% of 8 billion dollars is still a lot of wasted money if you think it is not the way you spoke of it on TV you pay it out of your pocket.And buy the way to all politicians how much money does it cost taxpayers to pay your gas and limo service a year please be transparent let us know.
