The level of supportin the film industry and Hollywood is estimated to be even higher.American actor Jon Voight is definitely one of Israel's most prominentfriends.Voight, father of actress Angelina Jolie, has come to Israel toparticipate in the support events taking place this week, the biggest of which is the event organized by broadcaster Glenn Beck tomorrow in Jerusalem. In an interview with Yisrael Hayom, Voight spoke about hisclose relationship with Israel: "My attachment to Israel and the Jewishpeople is a result of what Judaism gave the human race. I havetremendous respect for the Jewish people."Voight stressed that "Israel has a lot of support in France andHollywood. I came here to stand by Israel and confront the anti-Semitism and lies that exist in the world today. I think Glenn Beckcame to Israel with an important mission and I wanted to offer him mysupport."As an almost compulsive news junkie, Voight is constantly interested inthe events. "When I get the newspaper I already know what is goingon," he said. "I like to read analysis, surf the Internet for informationand find materials about Israel." He is disturbed by Israel's image inthe media: "It is really an important subject and that is why I am here,to confront the way Israel is presented and all the lies told about it."Voight also shared his opinion about the UN and what we can expect inSeptember: "The UN has become problematic, especially for Israel," hesaid. "It has been taken hostage by anti-Semites. Everything thathappens in the human rights committee is a joke. But on September22, when they gather for their Durban 3 conference, we will protest infront of the UN headquarters in New York. John Bolton and Eli Wieselwill be there and so will I."
