Global Community Forum 2011


The Forum will be connecting passionate Australians for a conference to unify and excite the movement fighting social injustices through speakers, workshops and debates about CHOGM, the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and becoming effective world changers. The conference focuses on investing in passionate youth by providing them with the skills, networks and opportunities to make meaningful changes in their communities.

It aims to:
Unify and excite the youth NGO community in WA Provide a platform for public education surrounding the MDGs Connect MPs with campaigners in their local electorate by establishing and building relationships Invest in young leaders and equip them with the skills to create change It will be running parallel to the CHOGM Conference in Perth at St Stephens School, 100 Doveridge Drive, Duncraig, WA from October 28th - 30th.

The three-day conference will:


Provide delegates with specialised intensive workshops surrounding the MDGs facilitated by organisations with expertise on the issues including Left Right Think Tank, Upside and Young UN Women. Lively debates surrounding aid and development. Inspiring presentations and discussions run by high profile politicians and CHOGM affiliates including Malcom McCusker, the Governor of WA and Samah Hadid, NSW Young Australian of the year 2011. An NGO fair for delegates to learn more about opportunities to take action.
