An AARP Drivers Saety Programwill be oered in September throughthe Mecosta County Commission onAging.Classes will run rom 12:30 to 4:30p.m. on Sept. 20 and 22. The classroomcourse will help older drivers becomemore aware o their changes in vision,hearing and reaction time and how toadjust their driving accordingly. There are no tests in the two our-hour sessions. Attendees will go overbasic rules o the road and typical trafc violations elderly drivers commit.State government passed legislationencouraging auto-insurance companiesto grant adults 50 and older a discounton their auto insurance or complet-ing a drivers saety course. Attendeesshould consult their insurance agents tosee what discounts are available. The cost is $12 or AARP membersand $14 or non members.
