The Red Flannel Festival Board of Di-ectors has been working diligently to pro-ide fresh new events for the 72nd “KnightDay Red Flannels Are Here To Stay!”estival celebration. “The board has add-d over 20 new events in the last few yearsnd boasts over 2,870 fans on our Face-ook page,” said President Michele Tracy-ndres. “This board is extremely dedi-cated to ensuring the Red Flannel Festivalthe biggest and best ever! We’re already  working on plans for NEW EVENTS forthe 73rd celebration in 2012!”

The Newaygo High School Marching Band participated in the annual Logging Fest Parade on Sunday, Sept. 5 in downtown Newaygo.The Newaygo High School Marching Band can be seen during the half time shows at Varsity football home games and at the following competitions: Sat-urday, Sept. 24 at the Belding MCBA Competition; Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Scholastic Competitions in Cedar Springs and Hastings; Oct. 15 at the MCBACompetition in Cedar Springs; Oct. 22 at the MCBA Competition in Jenison; and Oct. 29 at the MCBA West Shore Competition in Rockford. The bandwould appreciate your support by attending these performances and cheering them on to another successful year.

On Saturday, September 24th TDL is host-ing a “Sell it Online” program starting at 10:30 AM. Youcan RSVP for this event by calling (989) 352-6274 but itis not necessary.“Sell it Online” will introduce you to the 3 main web-sites where you can list items for sale. Ebay.com is an auc-tion site where you can list anything from antiques, elec-tronics, media, collectibles and more. Craigslist.com is a
version of the newspaper classieds you are already famil
-iar with. You can list anything from boats to cars to furni-ture and farm equipment. Etsy.com is a site where you cancreate an online store to sell handmade or vintage itemsat set prices. All three sites offer you different possibilitiesand you can learn more about them at the library.Other programs at TDL that you don’t want to miss in-clude, “Talk Like a Pirate Day” on September 19th. TDLhas been celebrating this day with boat loads of fun forthe last 8 years it’s always a blast of a pARGHHHty. Thepirates will be setting sail at the library on Monday, 9/19at 3:30 PM. And don’t forget that the library also has af-ter school programs on Early Release Wednesdays at 2:00PM.For everyone who has enjoyed the One Book OneCounty selection this year, TDL will be holding a book dis-cussion at noon on Monday, September 19th. Come and join in for a discussion on John Robinson’s book Look mein the Eye: my life with Aspergers. Feel free to bring yourlunch with you and enjoy your lunch hour with friendsand neighbors.
