Reagans Economics Reagans policies reflected conservative politics and contributed to stimulation of the

economy in a way some thought was great. President Reagan had three goals in the 1980s. One was to cut taxes and ensure the increasing tax revenue would continue. Then he wanted to reduce the cost of labor and increased unemployment rates. Reagan spent years and trillions of dollars on the military and his new defense program. Reaganomics was Reagans economic philosophy that motivated the government toward larger expenditures. To generate wealth was to be stimulated he thought. So to stimulate the economy, Reagan cut taxes on personal income which gave Americans the motivation and ability to spend more and ideally make more economic growth. Then as Reagans term was coming to an end the American budget was in crisis, workers were striking, and conservatives complained about new land preservation. Unemployment was pushed to an all-time high by the Economic Recovery Act.
