PARKESBURG FREE LIBRARY MONTHLY BOARD MEETING JUNE 27, 2011 President Judi Flynn brought a regular board

meeting of the Parkesburg Free Library to order at 7:00 p.m. Present were: Roxanne Sockoloskie, Tom Knecht, Dennis Schwandt, Mel Keen, Pam Misciagna, Carol Lantz, Linda Jones, Bob Boarts, Barbara Stevenson, and Judi Flynn. OFFICERS REPORTS Secretarys Report MOTION (made by Dennis Schwandt/second by Pam Misciagna) To approve the minutes as written. Motion unanimously passed.

Corresponding Secretarys Report Thank you notes were sent to those who contributed to the fund drive.

Treasurers Report Revenues as of May 31, 2011: $84, 876 Expenditures as of May 31, 2011: $64, 115 Fund Drive: $12, 217

Library Directors Report Tom has requested that during the months of July and August the library be open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. MOTION (made by Dennis Schwandt/second by Linda Jones) For the months of July and August, the library shall be open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Motion unanimously passed.

Liaison with the Borough of Parkesburg The check from the borough should be received shortly.

COMMITTEE REPORTS District SAC/Trustee Meeting The next meeting is in August.

Grounds and Maintenance A locksmith is needed for bathroom locks at the library. Carol is mulching the front garden one day this week. Weeding was done last week. Dennis suggests closing at 5 p.m. on July 14th. The circus will be in the park and there are two scheduled performances. There is real concern that many people who will be watching the circus may abuse library property including the restrooms. Dennis suggests hanging some type of library renovation graphic or illustration at the front of the library in September. He will be contacting the architect to find the cost of the graphic. Hopefully, the cost for the graphic will be available at the September meeting.

Golf $3,900 was made from the golf outing. Linda presented the check to Roxanne at tonights meeting. More participants are needed for the planning of next years outing.

Garden Tour The board is still awaiting the check for the money earned from the tour.

Christmas in Parkesburg The committee for this event will meet the beginning of July. The Christmas tour is going to be posted on Facebook!

OLD BUSINESS Bulk Mailing There is still information that needs to be stuffed into the envelopes. Bob suggests that bulk mailing be sent to the residents of West Fallowfield and Londonderry townships. MOTION (made by Mel Keen/second by Linda Jones) To send bulk mailings to the residents of West Fallowfield and Londonderry townships. The mailings will include information about the Parkesburg library, its activities and its fund drive. Motion unanimously passed.

NEW BUSINESS Library Concerns There was some discussion about who will take care of the grass at the back of the library.
