Dear PBCites!!!Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you maybe healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful andeffective. (James 5:16 NRSV).From our new Faith and Family Sunday School Class to almost half a dozen individu-als I am currently counseling, this verse in James Chapter Five is ringing true andclear! There is something about coming face to face with our own humanity and al-lowing God's grace to break in on our lives.Lead singer, Mike Donehey, of the group, Tenth Avenue North, shared avideo journalof a song they sing called, Healing Begins. As long as we are keeping the struggles wehave to ourselves, we continue to put forth the idea that I can somehow save myself. Itis God and God alone that brings about healing. And the healing begins as we break down those walls that we have built up. I want to thank all those that have confidedwith someone else about the issues they are facing in life.We look more like the community Christ has called us to be a part when we are will-ing to share our lives with those He has placed around us. My prayer is that PhilippiBaptist Church would continue to be one of those places that fosters a safe place to bereal. I also wanted to thank folks that have been coming to this church for decadeswho are embracing our new families with such love and acceptance. There is no sub-stitute for sharing your experiences with someone who may just now be entering asimilar season of life that you have already experienced.Philippi Baptist's strength is in the fact that we have all generations worshiping to-gether! What a beautiful picture that makes. If we all can listen with open hearts andshare with open arms, God's Kingdom will continue to go forward in His name! I wasreminded this week that so many times we overlook thanking those that have servedfaithfully here at Philippi Baptist for some many years. We are indebted to all thosethat work tirelessly behind the scenes to see that all continues to operate and move for-ward!I'll let Tenth Avenue North have the final word this month. My heartfelt prayer is thatwe would continue to let Healing Begin in all our lives --- Together.Shalom - Pastor Jon

So you thought you had to keep this upAll the work that you doSo we think that you're goodAnd you can't believe it's not enoughAll the walls you built upAre just glass on the outsideSo let 'em fall downThere's freedom waiting in the soundWhen you let your walls fall to the groundWe're here nowThis is where the healing begins, ohThis is where the healing startsWhen you come to where you're broken withinThe light meets the darkThe light meets the darkAfraid to let your secrets outEverything that you hideCan come crashing through the door nowBut too scared to face all your fearSo you hide but you findThat the shame won't disappearSo let it fall downThere's freedom waiting in the soundWhen you let your walls fall to the groundWe're here nowWe're here now, ohThis is where the healing begins, ohThis is where the healing startsWhen you come to where you're broken withinThe light meets the darkThe light meets the darkSparks will fly as grace collidesWith the dark inside of usSo please don't fightThis coming lightLet this blood come cover usHis blood can cover usThis is where the healing begins, ohThis is where the healing startsWhen you come to where you're broken withinThe light meets the darkThe light meets the dark
