How to Use Job Cluster?

Job cluster is a system where Job Titles that have similar characteristics and role are put in one group. The point of doing job cluster is to simplify the process of making Job Description, specification and measurement of each Job Title. Job Cluster is divided and associated to a grade to difference its job value, maturity level and capability. Example : Mechanic 1, Mechanic 2, and Mechanic 3, this is a job cluster of jobs that have the same role mechanic, but the grade on its title shows different value, level and maturity of its job (in result: different salary range). In the operation, the job title of these three is still Mechanic. Job cluster is generic; DO NOT USE IT AS A JOB TITLE. It is created that way so that people in job cluster be able to move within their job cluster, and possible to move into other job cluster. Example: Contamination control analyst can be moved to be product failure analyst. Job Cluster is opened for career path both structural and specialization. Example: The career of a partsman is not a must to be a parts coordinator. S/he may also be able to be a Parts Specialist that have the same grade with parts coordinator. Without Job Cluster, there will be thousands of different positions in a system and make it hard for us to make standardization. CREATING AN ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE We can create an organization that suits best to our needs and conditions by selecting the most appropriate job from the cluster list. While doing this (selecting a job), all attributes of this job will be attached. The attributes of a job includes: Grade and Job value Job Description (J.D.) o Role Description One J.D can create more than one position description/Role Description with the same characteristics. Example: Generic J.D. Service Operation Foreman; Position Description created: Machine Operation Foreman, Field Operation Foreman, and Engine Operation Foreman. o Job Specification o Measurement Criteria (KPI : Key Performances Indicator)
