OUTLOOK ANYWHERE IMPLEMENTATION DOCUMENT

These are the perquisite before configuring MS outlook.

Log on Local machine as Local administrator

Add following DNS entries in local DNS Server or if it not possible then directly put following
entries in hosts file (C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) of every system.

Host file or DNS entries are as follows:

10.35.1.12 mail.rbi.org.in
10.35.1.12 autodiscover.rbi.org.in
10.35.1.13 rbiim01.rbi1.rbi.org.in RBIIM01

Verify that you are able to reach to above FQDN using PING utility.

Open Internet Explorer, Go to Tools-Internet Option-Connection-Lan Settings-Advance-Add

Exception entries as follows:
mail.rbi.org.in;autodiscover.rbi.org.in;10.*;

Start the Profile configuration

1. Log-on the Local machine in to local domain/workgroup which is using by the user
2. Copy IDRBTCombineCert.p7b provided in the CD to any local drive and right-click the file
and click on install Certificate.
3. Click on Next

4. Select Place all Certificates in following store and Click on Browse

5. Select Trusted Root Certification authorities
6. Click Next and Install. You will be presented by the following screen.

7. Open Internet Browser and go to https://mail.rbi.org.in. You should not be prompted

for security warning about certificate.
8. On Client machine Go to Start-Settings-Control Panel and Open Mail
9. Add User Profile with User Name

10. Select Manually configure Server settings and Click Next

11. Select Microsoft Exchange Server, Click Next

12. Enter the Mailbox Server Name and User name. Do not click on Check Name button yet.
Click on More Settings.

13. Following screen will be displayed for two times; ignore and Cancel both the screen
14. Go to Connection Tab

15. Select Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP under Outlook anywhere section.
16. Enter the URL mail.rbi.org.in under connection settings and select On fast network ,
Connect using HTTP first too as shown below in the diagram also select Basic
Authentication under Proxy authentication settings.

17. After applying all above settings, then click on Checkname button, It will prompt you for
user authentication, Provide user name in the form of xxxxxx@rbi1 or rbi1\xxxxxxxxx
18. Click on Next to finish wizard
19. After finishing this wizard ,we can start using Microsoft office outlook 2007
