WATER HARVESTING
• Water is one of the more
important and essential
substance for life are air,
food and water. We can
survive for several weeks
without food, for only a few
days without water. Water is
essential part for crops
SOURCES OF WATER
Earth is covered by water and only one –
third is land. Water on the earth is present
in the form of oceans, seas , rivers, lakes
and springs.
TWO CLASSES OF WATER
HARVESTING
Water can be grouped into two classes.
1. Surface water:-- Rain water, River
and lake water, sea water.
2.Underground Water:-- Spring Water ,
Well water.

WELLS , CANALS , TUBEWELLS
AND FOUNTAINS METHODS
ARE USED TO GIVE THE
WATER OF PLANTS AND
CROPS
TUBEWELLS AND WELLS
The wells and tube wells are man made
holes dig into the earth’s surface in or due
to get the underground water. The flow of
the water of tube well is very high and
used for harvesting in india.
Rain Water
Rain Water is purest form of natural
water. In our country farmers
depends on rain for harvesting. Rain
is considered good for the growth of
paddy crops and wheat crops.
RIVER AND LAKE WATER
River and lake waters are also used for
harvesting to give the water of the
crops and plants.
CANALS AND FOUNTAINS
Small canals are made from rivers.
These canals are used for harvesting.
Fountains are also best methods
.Through the small pipe fountains
are used to give water of the crops.
