Answer: Britain need natural resources in order to making machine productions. The natural resources needed for Industrialization was waterpower and coal to fuel new machines, iron ore to construction machines, rivers for transportation, and harbors for the merchant ships to set sail. 2. How did the enclosure movement change agriculture in Britain? Answer: The enclosure movement had changed agriculture in Britain by two results. First, landowners experimented with new agricultural methods such as the seed drill. This allowed farmers to sow seeds in rows at specific depths. Secondly, large landowners forced small farmers to become tenant farmers sometimes and to give up farming and move to cities. 3. Name three inventions created during the Industrial Revolution, and describe their impact. Answer: John Kay made the flying shuttle, which doubled the work a weaver could do in a day. James Hargreaves created the spinning jenny, which allowed one spinner to work eight threads at a time. Lastly, Richard Arkwright created the water frame, which used waterpower from rapid streams to drive spinning wheels so textile workers didnt have to use their hands. These inventions took the work of spinning and weaving out of the house and into factories, which was a big change in industrialization. 4. What helps to explain the rise of global inequality during the Industrial Revolution? Answer: Inequality rose during the industrial revolution due to the creation of a working and management class and the subsequent incomes. The negative effects of the Industrialization is that it created pollution and environmental damage. The positive effects were that it created jobs and improved the economy. It also created a large middle class separated into two parts. It also strengthened economic ties because industrialized countries needed raw goods. The industrialized countries used the small countries to improve their economics by

using their natural resources and their land. 5. Describe the two classes outlined by Marx and Engels in The Communist Manifesto. Answer: The two classes in The Communist Manifesto are the bourgeoisie and the proletariat. The bourgeoisie were the wealthy, which owned the means of production. The proletariat were the lower class, which contributed by giving labor. Marx argued that that the group with wealth abused the proletariat to where they wanted to rebel. Marx made a communism society, and he said that the workers owned means of society. 6. Describe three ways women fought for change during the Industrial Revolution. Answer: First, women formed unions in the trades where they had addressed social issues. Secondly, some women had served as safety inspectors in factories. Lastly, college-educated women ran settlement houses, where poor residents were served.
