For this new édition the D ietionary has been thoroughly revised w ith the

aid of ail available new vocabularies.

M any term s and meanings hâve been

a d d e d from

chem istry and related sciences and from industry.

The vocabulary has grow n from 35,000 term s to an estim ated 42,000, in spite of the fact that m any term s having the sam e spelling and m eaning in French and English hâve been om itted in order to save space.

The chem ical nom enclature has

been revised to accord w ith the m ost récent décisions.
