Greetings fellow Football Manageraddicts. We would like to invite youto pull up a chair, sit back and relaxwith the latest issue of The Bootroom –a fanzine dedicated to everybody’sfavourite management sim. If youhaven’t heard of us before then letme explain…
Do you remember the CM magazines thatSports Interactive used to release onceor twice a year? Well, we missed themterribly, so we decided to create ourvery own magazine. The first issue hitthe virtual shelves just before Christmaslast year and we are now up to issue 4.We are not ashamed to admit that weare FM ‘fanboys’. The Bootroom sets outto inform, inspire and entertain with awide range of articles including tacticalhelp, skin reviews, stories, league andteam guides and even a rummage aroundthe history of the world’s greatest game. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The great thing about being anindependent fanzine is that we cango where SI’s own magazine could not. That doesn’t mean berating every littleflaw of the game, but we can be veryfond of our own opinion and that’s muchmore fun. Hopefully you will agree thatour take on all things FM is original andthought provoking. We try not to followthe pack (unless the pack has warmsausage sandwiches).Until recently the editorial teamconsisted of Simon Johncock (editor),Chris Kelly (design) and Pete Jennings(sub-editor and chief writer). SadlySimon has had to relinquish his roledue to other commitments and that iswhy we have decided to team up withFMFormation to get a little helporganizing and promoting The Bootroom– which means Bozza’s inbox is nowbombarded with detailed discussionson how many articles we need, whatcaptions should look like and otherequally exciting stuff.Anyway, that’s enough talk. We hopeyou enjoy issue 4 of The Bootroom. There will be another one along justbefore Christmas, so make sure youget all your shopping done so that youcan get some serious FM time whileeveryone else is sleeping off their dinner.Happy reading.
