Suggestions for Using Alphabet Flash Cards

Cut cards apart, color pictures for each letter. Place cards in abc order, point to each letter and sing the alphabet song or say the letter name. Have your child trace the letters of the alphabet with his/her finger When your child is able to identify all the letters alphabetically, play a card game. Mix up cards, place them face down. Turn each card over one at a time. Have your child identify the card being shown. Once mastered, have your child name the letter sound and something that starts with that letter sound. Play the In-between game. Place two letter cards face up and have your child choose the letter card that should be placed in between. For example, turn letter cards D and F face up. Have them choose the letter card E and place it in the middle of the other cards.
