Creating a Personalized Faculty/Staff ePortfolio

September 2011

Loyola University Chicago recently updated its ePortfolio system! This new and improved service is provided by TaskStream and will give students, faculty, and staff many more options when creating their own personal, professional and academic ePortfolios. These instructions are intended to help get you started on designing your own ePortfolio, customized to showcase your experiences and skills. Thank you for participating and good luck!

You will then be brought to the Home Page for TaskStream . Click on Folios & Web Pages to customize your own ePortfolio.

To access the TaskStream system and create your own ePortfolio, begin by going to: eportfolio.luc.edu and using your Loyola Universal ID and Password to login.

On the Folios & Web Pages page, type in the name of the new Folio/Web Page that you would like to create and click Create New.

Next, select the type of folio template you would like to use. Depending on the template you choose, your ePortfolio will be populated with suggested pages to which you can add content. The page titles and arrangements can be edited after you create the portfolio. Once you have selected either an option from either General Purpose or Custom templates, click on Continue.

Next, click on the Edit Content tab at the top of the righthand side. This will give you access to the different sections and pages within your ePortfolio. A More Help box will also appear on the right side of the page and will be able to aid you with more specific questions.

After a template has been chosen, you will have the option to select the layout of your ePortfolio. Chose if you would like the navigation tabs to be placed on the side or at the top of your page and click Save Changes.

, Back on the left side of the page, you will be able to edit the sections and pages within your portfolio. To do this, select the section or page you would like to edit and click on the Add, Delete or Move buttons. You are also able to rename the folders and pages by selecting them and clicking the Rename button that will appear on the right side of the screen.

Through using the Move function, you will be able to place a page above, below or within a section. To do this, select the section/page you wish to move, click Move Area, and then select Paste in the new section you would like to move the section/page. You will have the option to place the section/page within, above, or below the second section selected.

After you select an area of your portfolio, you may add text, images, document attachments, videos (only those on your computers hard drive) and links to outside websites. The Section button will add a new page underneath a folder.

Through selecting the Publish/ Share tab at the right of the window you will be able to set-up how you would like to share your portfolio with potential viewers. Your options are: As an email where you control how the portfolio is copied/edited and shared As a PDF that is easily printed out As a website that is accessed through a link that you would supply

We encourage you to use the Publish function and create a unique URL to share.
