GRAY'S NECRONOMICON
 by T. M. Gray
© 2006
The meaning of Necronomicon is 'Book of the Dead', hence this is my book of the dead. Youwon't find any living person in these records, but if you're of European descent you may be ableto trace some of your ancestors by using this ebook. Although I've written several novels, Ihesitate to call myself the
author
of this work; 'compiler' is a more accurate term as most parts of this book were previously compiled by ancestors and relatives, which can be found in research books in any well-stocked library or on the worldwide web. As always with ancient (and somenot-so-ancient) lineages, one must keep in mind that occasionally a red herring may emerge fromthe historic depths. Back in the day, it must have been quite a feather in one's cap to claimlineage from royalty—directly from the biblical Adam and Eve. Most people alive today of European descent can make the same claim quite easily and probably many several times over invarious branches of their family trees. The genealogies of nobles and royals, however, tend to be fairly accurate (that is, until you getinto the truly ancient lines and that's when things get a bit fuzzy.) Rulers and nobles were the people with land, money and possessions; therefore, they were the ones most involved with lawsand taxation. At around 200 AD, records of their wills, marriages, births and deaths weremeticulously kept by the Church, and it is upon these records that we rely for information. This does not mean all the information in this compilation is absolutely correct. There are boundto be some discrepancies from unverified information by sources such as the Latter Day Saints,WorldConnect, Britannica, Wikipedia, Ancestry.com and other places on the internet; however,I've done my best to keep everything as accurate as possible with the information available. Thatsaid, you may find unintentional inaccuracies and for that, I offer apologize in advance. In this book, the name of the ancestor is preceeded by a number for cross-referencing. If their spouse has a cross-reference, the spouse's name will be set in bold-face type and followed by anumber in italicized parentheses showing you where to look. In some cases where only the wife'slineage is known (or if her children received her surname), her name often will be listed firstinstead of that of the husband. Children married into other families will have italicized, numbered parentheses following their names so you'll know where to find them in thiscollection. You can use the Search option on the Adobe Acrobat menu—or (even easier) you canuse the clickable family bookmark links by opening the
bookmark
tab to the right. Entries withthe same surname but are not yet found to be related are separated by * * * and their referencenumbers will be followed by a letter (1a, 10b, etc.)Please note: I am not a professional genealogist. Genealogy is a great interest of mine, but I'venever been paid to research family roots. This work is presented to you as a result of more than20 years of research, and it's my hope that this e-book will save you some time, frustration andmoney in the search for your own ancestors. Sincerest thanks to all who helped along the way.~T. M. Gray
