MSP430 LAUNCHPAD workshop

The MSP430 16-bit micro controller platform of ultra-low power RISC mixed-signal microprocessors from TI provides the ultimate solution for a wide range of low power and portable applications. One of the recent open source offerings to accelerate and encourage the usage of these little low power engines is the TI Launchpad development tool. This platform embeds all the hardware required to take designs from prototype to completion. The workshop is mainly intended to help attendees get started on these platforms. The workshop introduces the architectural details as well as programming tips and tricks to quickly get started on these platforms. The workshop is organized with a right balance of theory as well as practical sessions to get a good handle on the capabilities of the development tool. A detailed course plan for the workshop has been provided below :

Session 2:(Afternoon)

RGB led. DC motor. Stepper motor. Servo motor. Potentiometer. Relay. Seven Segment display. LCD display. IR sensor(obstacle detection sensor ). PIR sensor.

Session 1: (Morning) Introduction to low power devices. Launchpad board layout. MSP430 microcontroller architecture. Getting started with the CCS IDE to start writing program. Interfacing with basic peripherals like LEDs, Switches and Buzzers etc
