This volume deals wi th the myths and legends of Babyl onia and Assyri a, and as these reflect the civilization in which they developed, a historical narrative has been pr ovided, beginning with the earl y Sumerian Age and concl uding with the periods of the Per sian and Grecian Empires. Over thirt y cent ur ies of human
