SINGULAR AND PLURAL

RULE 1
Most nouns usually end with S in plural. Example:

FLOWER

FLOWERS

RULE 2
When nouns end in the consonants S

SH CH X and Z, add ES to form the plural. Example:

BUS

BUSES

RULE 3
When nouns end in F or FE, change F and FE for the ending VES. Example:

LEAF

LEAVES

RULE 4
When nouns end in Y and it is preceded by a consonant, change Y for I and then add ES.
Example:

BABY

BABIES

RULE 5
When nouns end in the vowel O, add -ES to form the plural.
Example:

TOMATO

Some nouns are in plural when are used in sentences. Examples:

When the plural of the noun is the same in singular and plural or it is used with S at the end. Example 1:
