(Honolulu, HI) – The Asia – Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’Meeting will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2011, at the Hale Koa Hotel and Sunday,November 13, 2011 at the J.W. Marriott Ihilani in Ko Olina.Security and transportation restrictions have been coordinated to ensure the safety andsecurity of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting leaders and delegates. Every effort hasbeen made to minimize the impact of these safety measures. The public’s cooperation andpatience is appreciated during this time.Road closures, parking restrictions, and changes to public transportation routes and publicworks services will be necessary during the APEC Economic Leaders’ meetings beginningthe evening of November 11 through November 13. Additions or updates to this plan may bemade prior to the start of the event.
Hale Koa Area Road Closures/Parking Restrictions/Pedestrian Screening:Impact for this area will begin at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Friday,November 11, and continue through approximately 11:59 p.m. onSaturday, November 12.

 Road Closures:
 
The closures will begin at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Friday, November11, and continue through approximately 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, November 12. All of thefollowing areas will be posted with “
 Emergency No Parking”
signage. Fencing and otherphysical barriers will also be in place as will uniformed law enforcement officers. Vehiculartraffic in the restricted zones will be limited to vehicles with a law enforcement/public safetyfunction.Pedestrian traffic inside the restricted areas will be limited to residents andowners/employees of local businesses that fall within the secure area. Government issuedphoto identification, such as a driver’s license, non-driver photo identification or passportwill be required to gain access.
 
Ala Moana Boulevard will be divided in half by the existing median and concrete jersey barrier to create two sets of EASTBOUND (Koko Head) traffic lanes fromKahanamoku Street to Kalakaua Avenue.The Inner EASTBOUND (Koko Head) traffic lanes of Ala Moana Boulevard, will beRESTRICTED TO APEC ACCESS ONLY.
 
Ala Moana Boulevard, WESTBOUND (Ewa) side lanes will run EASTBOUND(Koko Head) ONLY from Kahanamoku Street to Kalakaua Avenue and remain opento unrestricted vehicular, pedestrian and general public traffic.
 
Kalakaua Avenue will be divided in half by concrete jersey barrier for theEASTBOUND (Koko Head) lanes creating restricted and unrestricted zones.
 
Kalakaua Avenue from Ala Moana Boulevard to Saratoga Road will beRESTRICTED TO APEC ACCESS ONLY. The EASTBOUND (Koko Head) lanesOUTSIDE of the APEC ACCESS ONLY lanes will be OPEN for general public andrun from Ala Moana Blvd to the Kalakaua Avenue/Kuhio Avenue split where allgeneral public traffic will be diverted onto Kuhio Avenue.
 
Saratoga Road will be divided in half by concrete jersey barrier to create two sets of lanes between Kalakaua Avenue and Kalia Road.Saratoga Road, WESTBOUND (Ewa) side lanes will be RESTRICTED TO APECACCESS ONLY.Saratoga Road, EASTBOUND (Koko Head) side lanes will remain open withunrestricted access by the general public, residents and businesses.
 
Kalia Road will be restricted from Ala Moana Boulevard to Saratoga Road for APECACCESS ONLY.
 
General public requiring vehicle access to Saratoga Road, Beachwalk Road, andKalia Road from Saratoga Road to Helumoa Road, must enter at Lewers Street andwill be subject to a vehicle security screening on Lewers Street between HelumoaRoad and Kalia Road.
 
 - 3 -Lewers Street, during the restricted closures, will run SOUTHBOUND (Makai)against the normal traffic pattern from Kuhio Avenue to Kalakaua Avenue to allowaccess for vehicles entering the Lewers Street security checkpoint.
 
All lanes of Beachwalk Road traffic will run NORTHBOUND (Mauka) ONLYagainst the normal traffic pattern toward Kalakaua Avenue.
 
There will be intermittent closures of other intersections in the vicinity of the HaleKoa that will periodically affect vehicular and pedestrian movement.
 Restricted Parking Zone
:
Vehicular parking restrictions will be coordinated and enforced bythe Honolulu Police Department. All affected areas will be posted with “
 Emergency NoParking”
signage. The restrictions will begin at November 11 and discontinue on November13 at 11:59 p.m. However, due to ongoing preparations in the area, some parking spacesmay be utilized by vendors related to the event starting as early as November 7. This starttime will be reflected on the “
 Emergency No Parking”
signs. Drivers should use caution inparking in these areas during this period and ensure they are not in a work zone.
 
Ala Moana Boulevard, EASTBOUND (Koko Head) from Kamakee Street toAtkinson Drive.
 
Ala Moana Boulevard, EASTBOUND (Koko Head) and WESTBOUND (Ewa) lanesbetween Holomoana Street and Kalakaua Avenue.
 
Hobron Lane from Holomoana Street to Ala Moana Boulevard.
 
Kalakaua Avenue between Ala Moana Boulevard and Saratoga Road.
 
Olohana Street between Kalakaua Avenue and Kuhio Avenue.
 
Kalaimoku Street between Kalakaua Avenue and Kuhio Avenue.
 
Lewers Street between Kalakaua Avenue and Kuhio Avenue.
 
Lauula Street between Lewers Street and Seaside Avenue.
 
Helumoa Street between Lewers Street and end of roadway.
 
Beachwalk Road between Kalakaua Avenue and Kalia Road.
 
Saratoga Road between Kalakaua Avenue and Kalia Road.
 
Kalia Road between Saratoga Road and Ala Moana Boulevard.
