First Semester is in the Past

The students were charged up after a short Fall Break. It was a good thing too because they needed the extra energy to get through the first week of the second semester. After each semester, we raise up the difficultly on class assignments and add minutes to their homework. Lets take a look at the week. In reading the students started their new novel studies and reviewed the skill main idea. In language arts, we continued our study on plurals and sentence fluency. The students designed their own Halloween book by using the website Storybird. You can check them out on their blogs. In math,

Report Cards due Monday!

we finished up Topic 5 and finished 22nd out of 1,473 schools in the Math Challenge! In history, we continued Unit 2 Western Expansion. In science, we finished Standard 4 Heredity with a test. To finish the week, we carved pumpkins, Skype with 2 classes (NE and TX), wrote to France, and the boys had their health party.
