Inclusive Planet Case Study

Social Web for the visually challenged

Executive Summary

Inclusive Planet is a social venture involved in creating innovative web based products and services for individuals who are differently-abled. I propose an ambitious strategy to tackle the problems and make the vision of Inclusive Planet come true. Inclusive Planet wants to 1) create Awareness 2) increase adoption of site and conversion rate and 3) raise funding and revenues. In order to achieve all 3 and in relatively less span of time, Inclusive Planet should use this two pronged strategy. One dimension of it is technology and other is getting support of a big and famous foundation. I suggest two companies which can greatly help the cause of Inclusive Planet. First being Microsoft by Gate Foundation. Bill Gate has shown a great interest in both India and technology driven social initiative. Microsoft can provide both monetary as well as technical support to Inclusive Planet. Bill Gate interest in technology driven innovative social initiative can gauged by his interest in Khan Academy. Following links throws more light on Gates interest: http://money.cnn.com/2010/08/23/technology/sal_khan_academy.fortune/index.htm http://www.khanacademy.org/video/khan-academy-on-the-gatesnotes?playlist=Khan%20Academy-Related%20Talks%20and%20Interviews http://news.slashdot.org/story/10/08/29/0456229/Bill-Gates-Enrolls-His-Kids-In-Khan-Academy It can be easily seen that after associating with Bill Gates, awareness about Khan Academy has increased multi-fold. Second is Apple Inc. With Steve Jobs resigning who showed close to nil interest in CSR, the new CEO Tim Cook has already started philanthropy programs. Also, the emergence of IPad adds a whole new dimension in mobility and accessibility. I suggest that partnering with Apple not only bring huge brand image and awareness but also a great opportunity to build IPad for print impaired. I feel that an innovation next gen IPad which is based on LED technology which adjust LED positions as to create braille like elevations on IPad touch screen with readability technology from Inclusive Planet can bring about a revolution. To tackle with the cost issue as to create a low cost IPad, Inclusive Planet can sought help from Human Resources Development Ministry, Govt. of India in collaboration with Apple. This new report shows the HRD Ministry has come up with a 35$ tablet. http://www.nowpublic.com/tech-biz/indian-ipad-india-debuts-35-touchscreen-tablet-video2643609.html Though it is an ambitious strategy for Inclusive Planet, I believe that it can achieve all its goal through it.
