Explain why, in terms of job performance and efficiency, knowing medical billing terms is critical for working in the health care field. Respond in at least 150 words and provide specific examples. Medical billing terms are essential. Knowledge of medical billing terms are important in maintaining proper records, efficient work flow in the practice, and staying up to date in record control. Medical billing terms ad codes have to be correct to guarantee that patients receive the correct treatment and that the practice receive correct insurance reimbursements in a timely manner. Codes are updated on a yearly basis and this reduces mistakes in the application and allows for any necessary changes in the internal billing systems. Knowledge of the complete billing process is increased with such efficiency. Applied data entry on a daily basis makes it less likely to be handled in a unmanageable manner. Medical offices would not operate without proper organization of billing procedures, terms, and codes.
