Kid’s Sermon
God has given us so many things to enjoy. We have much in which tobe thankful. One of the first Thanksgivings happened many yearsago when the Pilgrims came across the sea to America. We will bewatching a PowerPoint shortly about some things that happened at that time so long ago.God loves all people and we are to treat them in the same way thatwe want to be treated. I see so many people who do not have anylegs and they cannot walk like you can.One time, I went into a
patient’s
room at the hospital to visit him,and he lay there so discouraged. He was very small for he did nothave any legs at all. I asked him how he was doing and this is what
he said, “Not good; will you read the bible to me?” I did not take my
bible with me, but I told him that I would quote some scripturefrom memory to him. He seemed ok with that, so I quoted Scripture to him that I had learned as a child by memory many years ago. Hewanted me to bring him some more literature to read, so I went to get some and took the literature back up to him. He was lying on hisstomach fast asleep, and since I did not want to wake him up, Iplaced the reading material close to his head. Later the next weekwhen I went to see him again, he was a very changed man and said that he got help. You see Jesus loves that man who had no legs as much as he lovesyou and me. We have so much to be thankful if we have two goodlegs and can walk to school, to church, and play sports at school.

God is GOOD even if we do not have legs like this man found out that day. We are to receive everything that God gives to us with thanksgiving. That means we are to praise him no matter what our circumstancesare in life. If things are not going well at school, we praise God. If  things are not going well at home, we praise God. If we have lots of clothes so just a few, we praise God. If we sit next to someone inschool who talks differently, we praise God. If we have to eat food that we do not like, we show gratitude for all that we have. This is the will of God in our lives. If
we say, “I do not like that” and
talk about what we do not like grumbling and complaining all that time, that is the same as rejecting what God has allowed us to have. Listen to this memory verse here:
For everything created by GOD isGOOD, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving.
” (
I Tim. 4:4)God has a purpose in all the GOOD and BAD that comes our way.He does not promise us that all will be good in our lives, He DOESpromise to be with us in the good and the bad. All people that God created are GOOD and none are to berejected. We are to receive different types of people in ouractivities, our church, our schools and wherever we are. God doesnot reject anyone. He has given all people a choice in which theycan choose to give their hearts to him and go to heaven one day. Hedid not give this choice just to you or those who are like you. Heloves the black the white, the American Indian, the African American and the whole world. God is GOOD.
