Procedure Overview
This document provides you with the procedure for replicating your Lotus
Notes database to a laptop computer.
What is replication? As explained in Lotus Notes Online Help:

“… When you replicate your mail database, for example, you can have a
current copy of your complete mail file with you at all times. When you
finally do connect to the mail server, Notes sends any outgoing mail up to the
server, pulls down any new mail, and pushes up to the server any recent
changes to your mail that you made on your local replica. In a matter of
seconds, your local mail file is current with the mail file on the server...”

Replication allows you to update your e-mail, calendar and to-do list with
your laptop..
After reading this document, will be able to:
o
Create a new replica of your Lotus Notes database on your local
machine
o
Access your Lotus Notes database replica on your local machine
o
Work off-line with your replicated database
o
Connect to the network to update your local and server copy of your
Notes database

Note: Replication is not archiving. Archiving is creating an inactive copy of
a mail database on a local machine. Unlike replication, archived documents
cannot be updated by connecting back up to the server.
