Due to a few studies about soil quality and organic matter of the soil (MOS) inthe valley of the Mantaro (Junín-Peru), that includes the biological aspects, the generation of humic substances by means of the incorporation of ovine, bovine and guinea pig manures to crops of potato and maize to doses of 10and 15 tm.ha-1, respectively, was evaluated. The study was lead in four localities. Were analyzed ground samples before the incorporation of theorganic matter and a day before the harvest. The organic carbon content wasdetermined in the humic substances following the method of Walkley-Black,and for the
and division of humic substances the method of Kononova-Belchikova was applied. Product of the fertilization, the MOS hasbeen increased in the potato parcels, emphasizing the treatment with dung of ovine in Santa Ana, except in the witness (without payment) of the Mantaroand in all the treatments of Huayao. Analogous it happens in the parcels withmaize; emphasize the increases in more of the 112% with ovine manure andmore than 90% with manure of guinea pig in Santa Ana. As far as theevolution of fulvic acids, humic acids and humins, generally are increased, but they descend in some; this variation must to local factors that conditionthe biological activity responsible for the decomposition of the MOS and itslater mineralization. Relations C
were smaller of 1, indicating evolutionlimited of the MOS.
