Some other
other uses of the software
There are all sorts of possible ways of using the software, other than to animate narratives. Some ideas
include:

Developing pictures

Children draw or paint a picture in tiny steps, and take a frame at each step. The result is a film of the
picture emerging from nowhere. This is a great art project, and very simple to do.

This is also an excellent way to create titles for films.

Geography and Science

Children animate processes, using

Plasticine models, or using a thin layer of
Plasticine filmed from above. There is an
example on this disc of a Geography film,
made by Year 7 children, about
volcanoes.

Suitable processes would be those which

can be broken down usefully into tiny
steps, such as the way the land changes,
how cells divide, how plants grow, and so
on.

Animating photographs

Try cutting up digital photographs of

people, and animating them on
backgrounds.

Animating ordinary objects

It is very simple and fun to bring ordinary

objects to life, as in the ‘Gluesticks’ film
on this disc.
