HISTORIC RESULTS ATACADEMY
North Halifax is now home to two of the best schools in Calderdale. The firstresults from the recently created Trinity Academy have show a massiveleap in standards. The number of students receiving 5 A*- C grades leapeddramatically from 48% in 2010 to 61% this year. The freedoms brought to teachers from Academy status has driven upstandards to a record high. This was all achieved with the same studentsand in the same buildings - unequivocally showing that it is teaching quality that makes the difference. Thanks to Education Secretary Michael Gove, a third of secondary schoolsare now either an academy or have started on the road to conversion. Thisis a fundamental shift in poweraway from government and towards teachers. Teachers, notpoliticians or bureaucrats, knowbest how to run our schools.
Conservative candidate AndrewTagg is a Governor at TrinityAcademy.
