HISTORIC RESULTS ATACADEMY
North Halifax is now home to two of the best schools in Calderdale. The firstresults from the recently created Trinity Academy have show a massiveleap in standards. The number of students receiving 5 A*- C grades leapeddramatically from 48% in 2010 to 61% this year. The freedoms brought to teachers from Academy status has driven upstandards to a record high. This was all achieved with the same studentsand in the same buildings - unequivocally showing that it is teaching quality that makes the difference. Thanks to Education Secretary Michael Gove, a third of secondary schoolsare now either an academy or have started on the road to conversion. Thisis a fundamental shift in poweraway from government and towards teachers. Teachers, notpoliticians or bureaucrats, knowbest how to run our schools.
Conservative candidate AndrewTagg is a Governor at TrinityAcademy.
FIGHTING FORBRADSHAW LANE
Andrew Tagg says “Cut
 the waste andbureaucracy not
frontline services!”
BURNING YOUR MONEY!
Instead of cutting waste and
inefficiencies Calderdale’s
Labour-Lib Dem council isputting up charges for care inthe home and parking fees, cutting library services, andrefusing to implement roadsafety measures. This whilst spending a whopping
£1.1 million on:

£52,000 on bottled water.

£900,000 on PR and
Consultants

£190,000 over two years
on Town Hall restaurantservices.
Andrew is continuing to pressure the council in to placing speed and weightrestrictions on Bradshaw and Riley Lanes. Residents know that cars aregoing far too fast. As a campaigner for road safety Andrew works close with
the Calderdale Council’s SID Team and local police.
Speed measurements forRiley Lane carried out on the 25
 th
October show highaverage results of 41MPH.
“This serious situation can
only be resolved bypermanent speed
restrictions”, said Andrew.“I once again ask the
council to look at a
permanent solution.”
