The Turkish Air Force (TuAF), one of the oldest military aviation organisations in the world, is celebrating its centennial. Welcome to Air Show Trkiye, the leading event of the celebrations! We have organized an international festival of aviation, combining the Air Show Trkiye with the European Air Chiefs (EurAC) and the Global Air Chiefs (GAC) Conferences, bringing together fellow aviators from many countries who have dedicated their lives to the Blue Skies so as to share the excitement and enthusiasm of a proud century with our nation and the Airmen of the World. Valuable insights have been shared during the European and Global Air Chiefs Conferences on the future of the Air Forces and areas of common problems, while exhibiting the determination and common will towards international cooperation and global peace. The last event of the festivities, Air Show Trkiye 2011 constitutes one of the largest of its kind in the world with the participation of more than sixty Chiefs of Air Force of friendly and allied countries, the most favored Flight Demonstration Teams and Solo Displays of the world as well as a large number of static display platforms. During the Air Show 2011 displays, you will have the opportunity to witness the performances of the demonstration teams of the friendly and allied air forces as well as the Turkish Stars and SoloTurk, and will gain an understanding of the underlying meaning of TuAF competes with the Age as you see our systems, weapons and aircraft and highly qualified personnel. The Turkish Air Force is proud to be able to bring together the passionate lovers of aviation the world over at this magnificient air show. I would like to congratulate all those who have taken part in as well as contributed to the realisation of this organisation and wish you all an event full of joy.

Air Show Trkiye -2011


The international Air Show Trkiye-2011, the leading event of the Centennial celebrations of the Turkish Air Force, is taking place at the 2nd Main Jet Base Command (ili/zmir) during June 4-5, 2011.

This magnificient Feast of the Skies, featuring leading flight demonstration and aerobatic teams and solo displays from many countries of the world together with their host the Turkish Stars and the F-16 SoloTrk Air Show Team will dazzle the crowds. To ensure that the spectators of this performance, which is fully open to public, have a great time, various food & beverage, entertainment and basic facilities are being set up around the air base, while souvenirs and books dedicated to global aviation will be available for visitors. Spectators will have the opportunity to have a close look at all the aircraft on display and get to meet with the pilots, childrens playgrounds and entertainment areas are being prepared. Well known flight demonstration and acroteams will be showing-off their provess at the Air Show Trkiye-2011. Mainly, Krila Oluje from Croatia, Patrouille de France from France, Patrulla Aguilla from Spain, Frecce Tricolori from Italy, Bialo Czerwone Iskry from Poland, Red Arrows from the UK and Thunderbirds from the US, will join their hosts the Turkish Stars. Solo display teams will be leaving their mark in the skies with F-16s from Belgium and the Netherlands, Typhoon, C-27J and AMX from Italy, F-16 and JF-17 from Pakistan, SAAB J 10 from Austria and IAR-99 SOIM from Romania and Ali smet ZTRK from Turkey.

Furthermore, visitors will also be able to look at the future of the TuAF, where they will be able to see the highly important modernization programmes represented by the A400M transport aircraft, the Airborne Early Warning and Control [AEW&C] Aircraft Peace Eagle, the indigenous UAV of TAI, ANKA, while Mock-Ups of the training aircraft HRKU and Gktrk-1 & 2 satellites, as well as the largest international aerospace programme of the world, the JSF! The Chiefs of Air Forces of 61 countries will be there to watch the shows that will no doubt be followed by tens of thousands of spectators from Turkey and abroad.

In addition, visitors will also be able to see current fighter aircraft of the Turkish Air Force (TuAF), F-16 Fighting Falcon, F-4E Phatom II, F-4 2020 Terminator, RF-4 and NF-5; training aircraft T-37, T-41 and SF-260 and the new KT-1; transport aircraft C-130 Hercules, C-160 Transall and CN-235M, tanker aircraft KC-135 and the Cougar and UH-1 helicopters.

The static display of the Typhoon from Germany, C-130 from Belgium and Algeria, the CN-295 from Poland, the C-27 Spartan & IAR-29 from Romania, the AN-26 from Serbia and Slovakia, the F-16A/C from Jordan will attract the crowd for details.

The prospect of witnessing this international show, one of the largest and most extensive of recent years and as a part of the ongoing celebrations of the Centennial of the Turkish Air Force is exhilirating and we wish all participating teams and countries the best of luck.

Trk Hava Kuvvetlerinin Yznc kurulu yl dnm etkinlikleri iinde ayrcalkl ve farkl bir yere sahip olan uluslararas katlml Trkiye Hava Gsterisi-2011, 2nci Ana Jet s Komutanlnda (ili /zmir) 4-5 Haziran 2011 tarihlerinde dzenlenmektedir.

Solo gsteri timleri olarak, Belika ve Hollandadan F-16, talyadan Eurofigther, C-27J ve AMX, Pakistandan F-16 ve JF-17, Avusturyadan SAAB J 10 ve Romanyadan IAR-99 SOIM, Trkiyeden Ali smet ZTRK, gkyzne imzalarn atacak.

Trkiye Hava Gsterisine dnyann en saygn akrobasi ekipleri katlmakta. Bu ekiplerden bazlar: Hrvatistandan Krila Oluje, Fransadan Patrouille de France, spanyadan Patrulla Aguilla, talyadan Frecce Tricolori, Polonyadan Bialo Czerwone Iskry, ngiltereden Red Arrows ve ABDden Thunderbirds.

Tamamen halka ak olarak icra edilen gsteriye katlan izleyicilerin hoa vakit geirmelerini salamak amacyla; s ierisinde eitli yiyecek, iecek, elence, temel ihtiya alanlar oluturulmakta, Hava Kuvvetleri ile ilgili hediyelik eyalar ve kitaplar halkmzn beenisine sunulmaktadr. zleyicilerin uaklar yakndan inceleyebilecei ve pilotlarla tanabilecei gsteri merkezinde, ocuklar iin oyun ve elence alanlar da kurulmaktadr.

As the Chief of Air Staff (Inspekteur der Luftwaffe) of the German Ministry of Defence, I am honoured that the Turkish Air Forces is celebrating its 100th Anniversary in 2011. Turkey has made important contributions to military aviation since the beginning of the history of aviation. As German Air Force personnel, we are always appreciative of the cooperation of our professional and reliable Turkish colleagues in the many exercises and other aviation activities we have been performing together for decades. Our close and perfect relations are also evident in the officer exchange scheme, which we have been practising for years. In addition, there has been reciprocal staff officer trainings and joint technical trainings between the two countries. German Air Force personnel and command control officers have served in the Turkish Air Force, and Turkish command control officers have served in corresponding positions in German Air Regiments. The German Air Force has deep rooted relations with Turkey and the Turkish Air Force. In particular, the NATO membership of the two countries creates a favourable environment for conducting joint trainings and sharing experiences. Our joint participation in exercises such as ANATOLIAN EAGLE and DYNAMIC GUARD is an expression of the importance of our past solidarity and cooperation. I extend my congratulations on the occasion of the anniversary of the Turkish Air Force, and wish you the continuation of your successes in the future. Havaclar olarak paylatmz, benzer harekat yntemleri ve en gelimi askeri kabiliyetleri sunma gdmzden kaynaklanan ortak ba, geleceimizin daha da gl olacann gstergesidir. leriye ynelik olarak, hem Trkiye, hem de ngiltere, Mterek Taarruz Ua 5nci Nesil Lightning IInin tedarikinde tam bir kararllk sergilemektedir. lkelerimiz ve hava kuvvetlerimiz arasndaki kalc dostluktan kaynaklanan gl ve dinamik bir ilikinin, hem her ikimiz iin, hem NATO ve hem de tm dnya iin yararl olaca muhakkaktr. ngiliz Kraliyet Hava Kuvvetleri adna, sadece 2011 kutlamalar iin deil, uzun dnemli gelecekte de her trl baarya ulamanz temenni ediyoruz. Birleik Devletler Hava Kuvvetlerindeki tm meslektalarnz havaclar adna, Trk Hava Kuvvetlerinin yznc yln kutluyor olmanz vesilesiyle hepinize en iten tebriklerimi sunuyorum. Geen 100 yl iinde imza attnz ok sayda baar, Mustafa Kemal ATATRKn stikbal Gklerdedir! hedefi ile ortaya koyduu ngrnn doruluunu kantlamtr. Tarih, Cumhurbakan ATATRKn bu hissiyatn ve bizlerin milli gvenlik asndan hava gcnn muazzam deerine olan sarslmaz inancmz dorulamaktadr. Trkiye Cumhuriyetinin ilk kurulduu yllarda hava kuvvetlerinizin milli egemenliin tesisi ve muhafazas iin oynad tarihi rolden gurur duyabilirsiniz. Souk Sava dnemi boyunca ise Trk havaclar, uluslarmzn ve hava kuvvetlerimizin geleceini nemli lde ekillendiren o alkantl zamanlarda NATO mttefiklerinin yannda yer almtr.

The great leader Atatrk has perfectly defined our vision for aviation with his words The Future is in the Skies!, and our initiatives in this field have since been in keeping with developments, the world-over. The foundation of the Turkish Air Force as we know them today, in 1911 as the Aviation Commission was one of the most important steps of this process. The creation of TOMTA and the the Turkish Aircraft Community in 1925, followed by the personal efforts and contributions of Nuri DEMRA, Vecihi HRKU and Selahaddin Reit (ALAN), has enabled the establishment of a very significant and solid infrastructure.

The Centennial of the Turkish Air Force

Celebrating its Centennial and with its very high combat readiness, the Turkish Air Force, which will surely be proudly celebrating many centuries to come, is held in very high esteem both by us and our allies. The sustaiment of an air force of this magnitude and strength can only be ensured by an aviation industry that is equally capable in technological infrastructure, to satisfy its needs. To this end, the cooperation and synergy between our Air Force and the industry increases every day. I sincerely hope that this synergy and cooperation will be an important force multiplier for our Air Force in the 21st century. I would also like to recognize once more, the martyrs of the air, the airmen and airwomen, who have willingly sacrificied their lives for their country to-date. I would like to avail myself of this opportunity to congratulate the Chief of General Staff and the Chief of the Air Force as well as all the members of Air Force Command, both active and retired, for their Centennial and I wish for many more Proud Centuries to the Air Force, an essential element for the perpetuity of the Republic of Turkey. Developments in aviation industry continued with the foundation of TAI in 1984 and the licensed manufacturing of F-16, CN-235, SF-260 aircraft and Cougar Helicopters for the Turkish Armed Forces. These continued with the initiation of ANKA, HRKU development, as well as the C-130 and T-38 Modernisation projects early in the 2000s, focusing specifically on design and development engineering, where accomplishments to-date have led to the establishment of an aviation industrial capability ensuring a higher level of local support to the Turkish Air Forces.

Transportation Due to the popularity of this event we would like to advise you to arrive early to avoid any possible traffic congestion. We have arranged quick and easy alternatives and suggest travelling by train with a free bus link to the airbase or travel by bus from the town and surrounding area. Visitors by car; Please take the 2nd Main Jet Base exit of the zmiranakkale highway and follow the Natural Life Park road to reach the main car park. Alternatively you can park at the Natural Life Park and take the free shuttle bus service between Natural Life Park and the 2nd Main Jet Base. Visitors by Train; Free shuttle bus services will operate between the ili/Ulukent station and 2nd Main Jet Base for visitors who would like to come via rail system. Visitors by Buses; Visitors will be able to take busses from the central locations of zmir to Air Show Trkiye-2011. Disabled Facilities List of disabled facilities and services at Air Show Trkiye-2011; Special parking, Disabled area, Toilets. Recommendations Extensive attendance is expected for Air Show Trkiye2011. In order to minimize the traffic density, it is strongly advised that public transportion, especially the rail system, be used and the guests who would prefer to come via their own means arrive early. No alcoholic beverages and weapons are allowed to be brought to Air Show Trkiye-2011. No pets will be allowed into the showgrounds. No motorcycles or bikes will be allowed into the car parking at 2nd Main Jet Base. Visitors arriving with motorcycles or bikes will be directed to the Natural Life Park car parking. Security and medical services will be provided within the showground. The locations of those service points can be found via the showground map which will be handed out at the entrance.

Spotters Spotters will be able to photograph national and international participant aircraft, especially T-37 and T38 aircraft which exclusively belong to Turkish Air Force in europe. The spotters programme will start at 08.30-14.30 on the 03 and 06 June. Arrival each day should be between 07.30-08.30 and report to the South Gate.

Airshows are still after football the largest outdoor events across Europe! Millions and millions of spectators are thrilled by the performances and displays of aircrafts of all variety. From fast jets to airliners, from gliders and warbirds; many people carry aviation in their heart. Among those many carry a camera to capture the action, and the die-hard fans of aviation photography are better known as spotters. You can find them around airports, military bases, even museums, just with the single purpose of getting that perfect photo! All spotters are very proaviation and always supportive towards the military. They seem always well informed on whats going on, which special airliner is expected at an airport or when the major military excercises take place. They find each other trough some very famous internetforums and in almost every country you have several spottergroups nowadays. Their favourite place to meet.at the fence: winter or summer, if there is an interesting aircraft they will always be there! In the mid nineties a new type of event emerged, next to the airshow or military exercise; a dedicated spottersday!

The best publicity for events, shared in photos all across the internet, was no longer done by the regular media, but many times by the spotters. Organisers were willing to give the spotters special acces to their event, usually in the days prior to the event to give them a chance to get pictures from different angles and far closer to the action then normal visitors. These initiatives were greatly appreciated by the worldwide spotterscommunity, and very often the limited spaces offered are immediately sold out. Today almost every major airshow or military exercise has a spottersday in their program. Airshow Turkiye 2011 teamed up with Belgian photographer Eric Coeckelberghs (EAC photographer and founder of the Air to Air Academy) to give the worldwide spotterscommunity a unique chance to see the preparations for the 100th anniversary celebrations of the Turkish Airforce on base and close to the action: the first spotterday in Turkiye! Not only will there be two spotterdays rightaway, one on rehursalday and one on departureday, but these fantastic opportunities were offered entirely free! Of course it was no surprise that positive reactions came from all over the world, and with over 1000 registered spotters from 27 different countries the interest was far higher then expected. Very soon all these enthousiast photographers will come to Turkiye to join the Centennial celebrations, and enjoy it to take thousands of photos of the aircraft of the Turkish Airforce!

Trk Yldzlar 8 spersonik NF-5 ua ile gsteri yapan dnyadaki tek akrotimdir. 18 Haziran 1993 tarihinde Ankara Aknc 4nc Ana Jet s Komutanl'nda Trk Yldzlar akrotimi devlet bykleri ve dier konuklara drtl olarak ilk resmi gsterisini yapmtr. Bu gsteri ardndan Filo stats kazanan Trk Yldzlar dnyann en gen spersonik akrobasi takm olarak kendinden sz ettirmeyi baarmtr. Trk Yldzlar akrotimine tahsis edilen 9 adet NF-5 ve 1 adet NF-5 B uanda yaplan tadilat ve deiiklikler Temmuz 1994'te bitirilerek birliine teslim edilmitir. 5 Ekim 1994 tarihinde Diyarbakr 8nci Ana Jet s Komutanl F-16 Aktivasyon trenleri ile Ankara'da 29 Ekim 1994'teki Cumhuriyet Bayram trenlerinde gsteri uuu yaparak kamuoyuna tantlmtr. Trk Yldzlar Eskiehir'de icra edilen Distant Thunder-95 tatbikatnn 20 Nisan 1995 tarihindeki gzlemci gnnde yerli ve yabanc konuklara ilk yedili gsterisini yapmtr. 2003-2004 Eitim ve retim ylnda gsterinin etkinliini arttrmak maksad ile gsteri paketini 8'li kola karmak maksadyla almalara balanmtr. Trk Yldzlar 8'li paket olarak ilk gsterisini 30.03.2004 tarihinde gerekletirmitir. 134'nc Akrotim Filo Komutanl u anda bnyesindeki 10 pilot ile gsterilerine devam etmektedirler. Trk Hava Kuvvetleri'nde 1987'den bu yana kullanlan NF-5'ler, akrobasi almalar esnasnda uu sistemleri ve performanslar sayesinde akrobasi uuuna en uygun uak olarak seilmitir. Dnya havaclk literatr tarandnda F-5 uann dizaynnn, spersonik jet uuuna en uygun uak dizayn olarak tanmland grlmektedir. Yaplan tadilatlara ilave olarak, uu sonras performans deerlendirmelerinin etkinliinin arttrlmas maksadyla 2000 ylnda uaklara 3 eksenli VTR (kamera kayt sistemi) sistemi eklenmitir. u anda tim grevine 10 NF-5A ve 6 NF-5B ua ile devam etmektedir.

Turkish Stars, is the only aerobatic team performing their displays with "eight" supersonic NF-5 aircraft. The Turkish Stars acroteam performs for the authorities and other guests during the last day of the Fire-Range Contest of the Turkish Air Force on June 18,1993 in the 4th Main Jet Base Command (Aknc/Ankara). After this performance of the Turkish Stars takes the squadron status and is considered to be the youngest supersonic aerobatics teams of the world. Nine NF-5A and one NF-5B aircraft which were in maintenance are given back to the Turkish Stars in perfect condition in July 1994. In October 5, 1994 the 8th Main Jet Base Command (Diyarbakr) is introduced to the public during the performances of the F-16 Activation Celebrations and the celebration of the Day of the Republic in October 29,1994 in Ankara. Additionally the Turkish Stars have been observed by many national and international guests during their "Distant Thunder-95" exercises in Eskiehir in April 20, 1995. In Baku/Azerbaijan in August 24,2001 Turkish Stars demonstrated a display to over than one million people,that is to be a world record. The first show by an 8 aircraft formation is demonstrated on March 30,2004. 134th Acroteam Squadron Command is demonstrating with 11 pilots now. NF-5 aircraft, those are in service at TuAF since 1987, were selected as the most suitable aircraft for aerobatic displays due to their avionic systems and aircraft performance. When the world aviation literature is scanned, it is seen that the F-5 aircraft design is the most suitable aircraft design for supersonic flights. In year 2000, in addition to above mentioned modifications, 3-axis VTR's were mopunted in order to improve the effectiveness of post flight evaluations. Now, acroteam demonstrates and trains with 10 NF-5A and 2 NF-5B aircraft.

Thunderbirds is the United States Air Force Demonstration Squadron, also known like America's Ambassadors in Blue, fly on six F-16C/D Block 52. The Thunderbirds Squadron use 12 F-16, while nine are from the C-modification (6 participated in the air and rest are reserve) and three two-seated from the D-modification. In resent times the slot plane #4 is usually F-16D. The squadron home base is Nellis AFB, near Las Vegas. In the squadron served 120 people - 12 officers, 4 civilians and 104 sergeants. The twelve officers have numbers with callsign Thunderbird. Thunderbird #1 is a leader and commander of the squadron. Pilots from #2 to #6 are demonstration pilots. #2 is the left wing, #3 is the right wing, #4 is the slot, # 5 is the lead solo and the #6 is the opposite solo. #7 is an operative officer and #8 is a narrator and coordinator of the show. Those are fighter pilots in the squadron but only six of them participate in the airshow. All eight pilots fly on the planes with corresponding numbers: # 9 is the flight surgeon: #10 - the chief of the headquarters: #11 - the chief of support and #12 - public relations (PR) officer. The candidates for pilots must have at least 1000 flying hours on a jet fighter and must be pilots of F-16 at the present. All candidates for members of Thunderbirds must have at least 3 years (but no more than 12 years) of military service. The Aircraft The F-16 aircrafts of the Thunderbirds are equipped with special power aggregate which supplies restoring of electricity and hydraulics in case of engine stop or traction lost. This helps the malfunctioned plane to land safety. Another difference is presence of a chronometer in a pilot's compartment which gives the pilots an opportunity to measure every maneuver with accuracy and precision of seconds.

The Patrouille de France (Patrol of France) includes one commander (who does not fly) and nine pilots - one leader (which leads the formation in the air and is not the pilot with the longest experience at the team; this makes the French aerobatic team unique because in the most of the rest aerobatic teams in the world the leader is the pilot with the longest experience at the team), a solo leader and second solo leader (both of them flies on airplanes with numbers 7 and 8), one reserve pilot (who has the longest experience at the team, but flies only when it is necessary to replace someone from the pilots, excluding the leader). All pilots have callsign "Atos". Except them Patrouille de France has 30 people ground crew who are responsible for good working order of the aircrafts. The team also has nine airplanes, one of which is a spare and carries number 0. The aircrafts of Patrouille de France are different from the usual ones by their coloring (in white, blue and red) and by the smoke generator on the bottom of the airplane's fuselage between two engines. It releases white, blue and red smoke. The aerobatic demonstration itself of Patrouille de France lasts only 20 minutes which not lists them amongst the best aerobatic teams in the world. Patrouille de France does not have its own cargo plane.

HAWK The BAE Systems Hawk is a British single engine, advanced jet trainer aircraft. It first flew in 1974 as the Hawker Siddeley Hawk. The Hawk is used by the Royal Air Force, and other air forces, as either a trainer or a low-cost combat aircraft. The Hawk is still in production with over 900 Hawks sold to 18 customers around the world. The Hawk was designed to be manoeuvrable and can reach Mach 0.88 in level flight, and Mach 1.15 in a dive, thus allowing trainees to experience transonic flight before advancing to a supersonic trainer.[3] Its airframe is very durable and strong, stressed for +9 g, but the normal service limit in RAF service is +7.5/-4 g.

The Red Arrows is the Royal Air Force aerobatic display team. The team consists of nine demonstration pilots who fly Hawk T Mk 1A aircraft supported by either a C-130 Hercules aircraft, which carries all the spares and equipment to support the detached operation, or a road train of coaches or articulated lorries that carry the support team and all equipment to the airshow. (On Team aircraft, the difference between the Mk 1 and a Mk 1A Hawk aircraft is that, as well as removal of the centre-line tank, which contains all the smoke systems, and installing in its place an Aden gun pod, the Mk1A can carry two AIM-9 Sidewinder air-to-air missiles, one under each wing). Every year three pilots leave and three new pilots will join the Team. The Red Arrows are renowned throughout the world as ambassadors for both the Royal Air Force and the United Kingdom. Since the Team was officially formed in 1965, the Red Arrows have completed over 4,000 displays in 53 countries. The Red Arrows reputation is built on the commitment and professionalism, combined with Royal Air Force skills, training and equipment. Many of the Red Arrows pilots and support staff have recently returned from Afghanistan and Iraq and many will be temporarily detached on operations overseas during their time with the Red Arrows.

Frecce Tricolori is the Italian Air Force aerobatic display team. The team consist of 13 jet training Italian made planes Aermacchi MB-339, but only 10 take part in the airshow. All team members carry call-sign Pony, following the number of the plane. On #0 plane flies the commander of the squadron, who is a former team member, and he don't fly in the demonstration. On #1 flies the leader of the team, who must be former team member. On #10 position flies the solo pilot. 750 flying hours on jet plane are required by the candidate pilots. The support team consists of approximately 60 members, carrying responsibility for the perfect support of the planes, administration and other support duties. Every show season of the Frecce Tricolori begins on 1 May and incudes of about 35 air demonstrations. The team have three types of shows depending on the weather condition - low, flat and full. After every 60 flying hours, the airplanes of the team goes to service check. Team's planes are equipped with smoke generators emitting green, red and white colored smoke. The Aermacchi MB-339 is an Italian military trainer and light attack aircraft. It was developed as a replacement for the earlier MB-326. The first flight took place on 12 August 1976 and deliveries to the Italian Air Force commenced in 1979. Still in production in 2004 in an enhanced version with a much-modernised cockpit. Over 200 MB-339s have been built, with roughly half of them going to the Italian Air Force.

Bialo-Czerwone Iskry (White-Red Sparks) aerobatic display team is a part of Polish Air Force and fly seven TS-11 Iskra airplanes painted in white and red and use the same colors smoke generators, as the demonstration duration is about 18 minutes. The first aerobatic display team in Polish Air Force was formed on Feb 16, 1969 in Radom airbase. The team was called Rombik (Diminutive of rhombus) and flew four Polish built jet trainers TS-11 Iskra (Spark). Also the team had two solo pilots, which flew only in solo displays and one spare pilot. The first public display of the Rombik aerobatic team was on Aug 17, 1971 during Polish Air Force Day airshow in Deblin. In this period team performed rarely and team's planes don't have special color scheme. In 1981 Rombik team was disbanded during sedition situation in Poland. TS-11 ISKRA The aircraft was designed in response to a Polish Air Force requirement for a jet trainer. The main designer was Tadeusz Sotyk - hence a designation letters TS. The new plane was the first jet aircraft designed in Poland. Work started in 1957, the first prototype powered by an imported British Armstrong Siddeley Viper 8 of 7.80 kN (1.750 lbf) was flown on February 5, 1960. The next two prototypes, with a Polish copy of the Viper engine named the WSK HO-10 engine were flown in March and July 1961. Poland is currently developing the new TS-11S Iskra (Spark) for future jet trainer. It will be equipped with new avionics, strengthened structures and a more powerful engine.

'Krila Oluje' (Wings of Storm) is the Croatian Air Force (HRZ) and the Air defense (PZO) aerobatic display team. Its task is the presentation of skill, discipline, team work and the high degree of training quality of the Croatian air force and Croatian armed forces in general. The team 'Krila Oluje' consists of the pilots from the 93rd Military airbase Zemunik. In comparison with the majority of aerobatic teams in the world whose pilots' single task is to train and do aerobatic team performances, the primary task of the pilots from the 'Krila Oluje' is training of the future Croatian air force pilots. Captain Diana Dobo, was a member of the 'Krila Oluje' from 2005 to 2007 and became a third woman in the world history to fly in an acrobatic team. The team candidates are chosen amongst the most experienced longtime flight instructors who must meet the basic conditions of excellent flight techniques, have needed psychophysical predispositions, tendency to team work and a minimum total of 600 flight hours. They also must show the best results in formation acrobatic flying consisting of two ship formation. The chosen candidates then go through a very demanding training of acrobatic flying in formations from two to six airplanes, during which the pilots train performing the specific acrobatic elements at minimal altitude above ground and at extremely low distances between the planes in a formation. The program performed by the 'Krila Oluje' is 20 minutes long and it is performed at the altitudes from 50 to 1000 m and at the minimum distance from the audience of about 230 m. For their trainings and exhibitions ' Krila Oluje' do not have special planes and equipment as majority of teams in the world but they use the airplanes from the Squadron of 93rd air base according to the momentary availability. The Pilatus PC-9 The Pilatus PC-9 is a single-engine, low-wing tandem-seat turboprop training aircraft manufactured by Pilatus Aircraft of Switzerland. This version was introduced in 1997 as the new standard model. It has an enlarged dorsal fin in order to improve longitudinal stability, modified wingroot fairings, stall strips on the leading edges as well as new engine and propeller controls.

The companies began a program for the improved G.222, named C-27J in 1996. This was a US military type designation based on the G.222's C-27A US designation. Then the design was changed to use the C-130J Super Hercules's Rolls-Royce AE 2100 engine and six-blade propeller. Alenia and Lockheed Martin formed Lockheed Martin Alenia Tactical Transport Systems (LMATTS) for the development of C-27J in 1997.[1] The C-27J has a 35% increase in range and a 15% faster cruise speed than the G.222.

Trk Hava Kuvvetlerinin Modernizasyonu: Statik Gsteri Turkish Air Force Modernization: Static Display
The contract for the Basic Trainer Aircraft was signed between TAI and Korea Aerospace Industries, Ltd. (KAI), at a ceremony, held at TAIs facilities on 18 July 2007. In order to meet the future basic trainer aircraft requirement of the Turkish Air Force Command (TuAF), a Request for Proposal was issued by the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (SSM) in January 2006. Embraer (Brasil) and KAI (South Korea) companies sent their proposals to SSM in July 2006. The evaluation activities, realized by SSM and TuAF teams, were completed by June 2007. At the Defense Industry Executive Committee Meeting held on 20 June 2007, the contract negotiations were decided to be initiated with KAI. In line with the resolution of the Defense Industry Executive Committee held on June 20, 2007, contract negotiations were started between SSM and KAI. Following the completion of negotiations between TAI and KAI, a contract was signed between the two companies on 18 July 2007. On the other hand, the Basic Trainer Aircraft Procurement Agreement was signed between SSM and KAI on August 3, 2007, with the participation of the Ambassador of South Korea and representatives of TuAF, KAI as well as TAI. Under the program, the manufacturing, assembly, flight test and delivery of a total of 40 firm (+15 optional) Basic Trainer Aircraft, planned to replace the existing T-37s that are in the inventory of TuAF, will be realized by TAI.

The prime contract, which was signed between the Boeing Company and the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (SSM) on 4 June 2002, for the acquisition of four B737-700 Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) Aircraft, became effective on 23 July 2003. Under the contract, a total of four (+2 optional) AEW&C Aircraft and one Ground Support System were procured from the Boeing Company. Within the framework of the program, an agreement regarding Structural Modification, Systems Installation, Control, Test and Delivery activities was signed between the Boeing Company and the sub contractor TAI in January 2004. Under the program, in which the modification activities of the first aircraft are carried out at Boeing-Seattle, the remaining three aircraft are modified at TAIs facilities, under the leadership of TAI team, trained on the first aircraft at BoeingSeattle. Modification activities of three aircraft are almost over and test activities are being performed. In addition to modification and test activities, the ground and flight function tests, performance flight tests as well as periodic, planned and unplanned maintenance of changed and/or additional systems and the sub-systems will be realized by TAI. Besides TAI, Havelsan, Havelsan Teknoloji Radar, MIKES and Turkish Airlines (THY) will also take part in the program as subcontractors of Boeing.

The Turkish Primary and Basic Training Aircraft (HRKU) Development Program became effective with the agreement signed between the Under secretariat for Defense Industries and TAI in March 2006. Within the framework of the program; design, development, testing, verification, manufacturing and civil certification of an indigenous training aircraft is going to be performed. Hrku will be designed and certified in accordance with EASA CS 23 standard. Hrku is going to have night and day mission capability, tandem seating and a single turboprop engine. With this aircraft, general purpose, instrument flight, navigation and formation training phases will be realized. In order to realize these training stages; the aircraft will have the standard aircraft systems, cabin pressurization, escape system and oxygen system. In HRKU project, besides of providing many technical properties, there are studies made on human machine interface, and the relation of human with the aircraft. HRKU will be an aircraft in which the human machine interface is provided, and pilots safety, comfort, usability, and maintainability requirements are satisfied. In the aircraft, considering the anthropometric range, the smallest size pilot

will be provided with a comfortable view and functional reach while the largest pilot will be able to use all controls comfortably, and will be comfortable seated in the aircraft. There will be a 110 outside view for the front pilot, and 50 outside view for the rear pilot. For the cockpit layout, which is still being worked on, careful consideration according to importance is given to the placement of controls and displays. Uu, 2si pilot 4 mhendis toplam 6 kiilik test ekibi tarafndan gerekletirilmitir. Toplam 127 ton arlkla havalanan A400M Ua, 15 ton arlnda uu test ekipman tad. A400M, 4570 metre ykseklie karken saatte 485 kilometre hza ulat.

A400M Ulatrma Ua / A400M Transport Aircraft

Under the A400M program, in which TAI is representing Turkey as the National Industry Institution, a total of 10 A400M aircraft will be procured for the Turkish Air Force Command. To compensate for the 10 A400M aircraft to be procured by Turkey, TAI shall undertake the structural work share which is corresponding to 7.15% of the total work and systems work package, which is 1.26%. As a partner of Airbus Military S.L., TAI has been participating in the design and development activities of the A400M aircraft with the leading European aerospace companies namely; Airbus (France, Germany, Spain and UK), EADS CASA (Spain) and FLABEL (Belgium) from the beginning of the program. With this program, TAI shifts to build-to design method from build-toprint. Being a partner of Airbus Military S.L. (AMSL), our Company will not only own design rights, but also become a partner of Design Organization Approval (JAR-21 PART JA) under AMSL since AMSL has design rights, in general, and type certificate (JAR-25). These approvals will make TAI a company, that has control over all the processes including design, test, certification and delivery. Taking place as a risk sharing partner in the program, TAI will manufacture the parts under its responsibility in each new aircraft order. The parts, which are under the responsibility (design & production) of TAI are; forward center fuselage, rear fuselage upper shell, parachute doors, emergency exit doors, tail cone, lightning and water/waste systems and aileron and spoiler. In addition to structural components, TAI is level 1 responsible of the lighting and water/waste systems of the A400M program. Furthermore, the fuselage harness fitting of the A400M is also manufactured by TAI engineers.

Elektro-Optik (EO) Keif ve Gzetleme Uydu Sistemi (GKTRK) / Electro-Optical (EO) Reconnaissance and Surveillance Satellite System (GKTRK)

In accordance with the resolution taken at the Defense Industry Executive Committee meeting of June 2005, TAI was designated as the main local partner in GKTRK Program. The aim of the GKTRK-1 project is procurement of a satellite and related ground systems required by Turkish Armed Forces in line with technological cooperation, joint development and joint usage principles in order to meet the requirements of acquisition of high resolution imagery for military intelligence from any place in the world without any geographical restriction. Within scope of this project, the National Satellite Assembly Integration and Test Center will be established at TAI. TAI has conducted proposal preparation activities along with bidder companies EADS Astrium (England), OHB-System (Germany) and Telespazio (Italy). firmas ile 5 Temmuz 2006 tarihinde Sistem Gelitirme ve Demonstrasyon (SDD) Faz havadan-karaya harici yk adaptrlerinin retimi ile Yorulma Testlerinin TAIta yaplmasna ynelik bir ibirlii anlamas imzalanmtr. Bu programda TAIn en byk kazanm, mevcut imkan ve kabiliyetlerinin yeni nesil retim teknolojileri ve retim proseslerine uygun bir standarda getirilmesidir. JSF Center Fuselage: Under the JSF Program, a Letter of Intent (LOI) was signed between TAI and Northrop Grumman ISS (NGISS) International on 6 February 2007. With the LOI, TAI becomes the second source for the F-35 Lightning II Center Fuselage. Northrop Grumman, a principal member of the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lighting II Team, is responsible for designing and manufacturing of the center fuselage for F-35 aircraft. The number of center fuselages to be produced by TAI will be determined depending on the number of F-35s Turkey will procure and the number of F-35s to be produced worldwide. The LOI represents a potential value in excess of $3 billion. Under the F-35 center fuselage production program, TAI will gain the following technological capabilities: High precision advanced technology composite part production, high level digital integration between design and production period, Robotic controlled drilling, cutting and integration processes, Fiber placement techniques with automatic machining for sophisticated structures, Composite and metal bonding techniques by using high technology, Robotic controlled precise coating and painting applications, High standard quality applications required for 5th generation fighter aircraft. With the LOI, a strong strategic cooperation, which will last at least for 20 years, will be established between TAI and Northrop Grumman. This cooperation, to be initiated with Northrop Grumman, the prime contractor of the center fuselage of the F-35 Lightning II aircraft, is expected to be a long lasting and fruitful relationship that will lead to future programs. The infrastructural investments that are being made at TAI for the JSF center fuselage production program, is believed to make TAI one of the few aerospace companies that have such capabilities. Chosen for its best-value approach, TAI exemplifies the objective of Northrop Grumman and the entire F-35 team to bring unprecedented and innovative technologies to the armed forces. With the initiation of the production of the F35 center fuselage at TAIs facilities, TAI aims to become a worldwide center of excellence by upgrading its existing technology for the production of 5th generation combat aircraft. JSF Pylon: Under the System Development and Demonstration (SDD) Phase of JSF program, a Cooperation Agreement, regarding the manufacturing of airto-ground pylon and realization of Qualification Fatigue Tests at TAI facilities, was signed with Marvin Engineering (MEC) Company, the prime contractor of F-35 aircraft pylon manufacturing and production on 5 July 2006. Within the framework of the agreement, production of pylons and fuel tank adapters, which are necessary for the assembly of fuel tank on the pylon, as well as fatigue tests will be realized by TAI.

Son insanl sava ua olarak deerlendirilen MTU/JSF (F-35) uann en sofistike yapsal ana blmlerinden biri olan Orta Gvde, yaplan i paylam uyarnca, Amerikan Northrop Grumman firmas tarafndan retilmektedir. mzalanan anlama ile TAI, ABD dnda F-35 uann orta gvde blmn retecek tek firma olacaktr. Bu anlamalar ile TAI ve Northrop Grumman arasnda en az 20 yl srecek stratejik ibirliinin temelleri atlmaktadr.
