President Lynn Holmes called the last general meeting in 2011 of the Whidbey Cruzers to order at approximately 7:05 pm held at the Oak Harbor Elks Lodge on November 1, 2011. There were 87 in attendance. Previous minutes were approved as written. Mysterious Visitor? Da Dum, Da Dum! There was this huge thing floating in the air over our heads before, during, and after the meeting!! Oh, it was just Harry Abbott playing with one of his toys! It was a SHARK, it looked mean! Strange though, I thought sharks lived in and under the water and that Halloween was over? Just some random thoughts: ..The Idaho and Montana shows can lead to vacations in Yellowstone, Glacier Nat. Parks and for the very ambitious Mt. Rushmore. ..The Oregon trip can lead to Crater Lake and the Oregon Coast for a cruise home. ..The Washington shows can lead to Southern Idaho, Craters of the Moon, Sun Valley or over Lolo Pass into Montana. ..These are not the only destinations, but hopefully it will get you to start thinking about some fun cruising. We have done all of these in an older classic car and have made many friends as we travelled. Thank You, Bob Cairns Cruzers: We would like your input, ideas and preferences of the above suggestions. Please reply to either Bob Cairns or us. You can just hit Reply, (not reply to all) or direct to Bob: bob2bobc@aol.com. Tell us the #1-9. FROM YOUR SECRETARY My goal for this year was to provide as much correct informative information to you as I possibly could. I think I accomplished that. Hopefully 2012 will be just as active as 2011 and healthier. CRUZ N WITH THE PREZ! We were able to have a few club activities in October. Alaska Credit Union had a car show, in the Albertsons parking, on the 14th. Ron and Joan Shirk took 1st place and Pat and Sharon Covello took 2nd place. Money from this event went to the Food Bank. The Homecoming Parade took place on the 20th and several cars participated. We had a club dinner on the 27th at San Remo restaurant. Lloyd Williams won the $20.00. Halloweens Trick or Trunk, at Ace Hardware was fun. The weather was great! About 17 cars were there and we had a good time giving out candy. We concluded the evening with a potluck at Chuck and Gail Jaegers place. Thank you for hosting this event.
