    The first iPhone was unveiled by Apple on January 9, 2007 and released on June 29, 2007.

    The 5th generation iPhone, the iPhone 4s, was announced on October 4, 2011, to be released on October 14, 2011, two days after the release of iOS 5.0, the Apple operating system for handheld devices.

    Apple released the first IPad inApril 2010, and sold 3 million of the devices in 80 days. During 2010, Apple sold 14.8 million IPads worldwide, representing 75 percent of tablet PC sales at the end of 2010.
