Concept art for The Fall of the House of Usher After a thorough reading of, and listening to,

the short story I have been able to ascertain what the most vivid elements of the story are. As such, the following thumbnails convey these scenes in the early stages of development.

Images 1-9 (above) show the arrival of Roderick Ushers guest at the house. 1-6 show the Mansion / Estate 7-9 the arrival of Ushers guest. I havent, as yet, commanded the grandure of the dilapidated grounds or been able to capture the vastness of the vista.

Images 11-16 show the servant leading the main character into the study of Roderick Usher. At this stage I used a slightly improved comprehension of the perspectives required an am starting to build up the detail in the scene.

Images 17-19 show the meeting of two old friends, an exterior view of the house and the viewing of Lady Usher as she retires to her bedchamber for the last time.

Images 20-23 show Usher and guest interring the recently bereaved Lady Usher in the Copper lined catacombs. The nal image shows both men seeing the Lady Usher for the last time before the cofn is sealed.

Images 24-26 show Usher appearing at his guests chamber bearing a candle. The nal image depicts Usher throwing open the casements to the storm outside.

Images 27-31 show Ushers guest reading a story to calm his hosts nerves. The scene where Launcelot kills the dragon, the apperance of the Lady Usher and the mens resultant fear. The nal image shows the the guest looking back at the scene of destruction after the house falls into the tarn.
