COOKERY DEMONSTRATION Local Rajasthani Cookery is taught by Bhavna Singh to prospective and interested guests intending to learn the

basics of Rajasthani cuisine. It is a 02/03 hour demonstration in the kitchen whereby she shares some of her favourite Non-Veg., Veg. dishes + snacks & desserts with the potential learners. The demonstration is very basic and it will give an idea to all the learners how to cook a basic meal and after that, they will be competent to try many other dishes too. Bhavna will give the learners a booklet with photographs of spices and write up of different dishes and how to cook them. These provide a very good insight into the psyche of Indian cooking and once basic knowledge and experience is gained, and then it will be possible to cook many other types of dishes using different combinations of masalas. She will also explain when and how to use different masalas for different flavours and explain the importance of each ingredient in the dishes. The recommended masalas are those which are easily available abroad also so that the dishes can be cooked anywhere. There will be no rigid formulae for the dishes but generally a combination of masalas + time taken for cooking gives the Rajasthani cuisine a distinct taste and uniqueness in itself. Of course the more exotic spices have to be avoided because they will not be available outside the Marwar region. All in all this is a good opportunity for intending learners of Rajasthani cooking to learn from Bhavna. She will give the demonstration with the family chef Dhan Singh who has mastered the art of cooking from her and is the Master Chef of the Homestay. All the Best and Happy Cooking to prospective Guests!!!!
