RFID Card/Tag Reading Area


The optimal Tag reading area on the Z1 terminal that you can use to place Tags
is located just above and right side of the terminal.

above the keypad as shown here. The Tag/Card should be placed within 3
cm from the Z1 SmartTerm.

SmartTerm Z1 features a long lasting LED back light LCD screen capable of
displaying a maximum of 16 characters in one line.

Hardware Requirements
1. A PC Workstation with Window Operating System.
2. Power Supply (9-24VDC).
3. RS485 Card/Converter.
4. Junction Box (Init Cabling Set or Polling Set).
5. 6p6c RJ45 Telephone Cable.

Operation of the SmartTerm Z1 is divided into:


- Idle Screen
- Scanning Location Card
- Scanning Machine Tag
- Set Time
- Maintenance Menu

Idle Screen
This operation screen is doing minimum process. Date time is shown on the screen to allow user
to see current date and time. If the date/time is out, user can set the time in Set Time Menu. At this
state, user can press Up/Down button to access to Location Card Screen

Scanning Location Card


At this state, user can present Holder Card or press Up/Down to enter Set Time Menu.

Scanning Machine Tag


At this state, user can present Machine Tag to register the tag to the tag holder. Number of tag is
shown. The record will be saved until upload to PC.

Set Time
If date and time is not correct when battery is weak, user can adjust the date and time by entering
Set Time Menu

Maintenance Menu
Maintenance Menu is used to set the terminal address. Scroll down maintenance until you see Set
Address. Use Up/Down button to set the device address. To confirm the setting, press OK button.
To cancel, press Exit button.
