 he Spring Suden Voice provincial meeing, sudens, romhe 15 regions in he province, in grades en o welve were askedhe quesion “Wha will learning be like in he 21
s
cenury?” Sudens were placed ino seven groups and each group worked independenly o brainsorm ideas and responses o he quesion. Tey organized heir work ono char paper and hen each group presened heir hinking ohe whole group. Responses were recorded and used as he source or hisdocumen. All o he groups expressed a rm commimen o he idea ha echnology  would play an even greaer par in heir educaion han has previously  been he case. Te role o he eacher would change dramaically, as wouldhe viabiliy o schools as learning srucures. Educaion would be sudendriven and individually caered o each person. Tere was also a desire osee high qualiy hands-on learning. Because o echnological advances,he global communiy would eaure prominenly as a resource or uurelearning. While echnology has been developing a an asonishing rae, sudenshave been a he oreron o exploring he uses and benes o several new elecronic devices. Tey see echnology, no as somehing special, bu assomehing criical o heir exisence. For hem, he use o echnology ineducaion would be a seamless exension o wha hey are already doing. All o he work groups made he naural assumpion ha echnology  would eaure prominenly in heir uures.Tere was unanimous agreemen abou he eliminaion o exbooks anda move owards a paperless environmen. Tey envisioned elecroniclibraries, I Pad devices and lessons ha could be downloaded. On apracical noe, sudens el ha he need or school lockers woulddiminish wih he move owards digial exbooks and resources. Sudens would no longer be carrying noebooks, exbooks or binders.Te role o he eacher would change as well. Sudens saw he eachermore as a menor and less as a giver o knowledge. Te inerne holds heinormaion ha sudens wan, and he eacher would serve as a guide ounlock he process o nding he required resources. Several o he groupshough ha here migh be roboic versions o he radiional eacher. Tearicial inelligence could presen lecures where suden response orinpu was no desired. Tere was also a uure need or online uors ha
