This is the second edition of “Citrix MetaFrame XP: Advanced Technical Design Guide.” In addition to completely rewriting the first edition of this book, several new topics were added. Here’s a partial list:
If you really want to understand the MetaFrame XP products, you must read this book! As an engineer by trade, I’ve read more technical books than I care to remember. One thing I’ve noticed is that a product or technology needs to mature somewhat before adequate readings are available to explain it all. Citrix technol- ogy has certainly matured, and of the book authors currently writing about Citrix technologies, Brian Madden has emerged the undisputed master. His writings are easily understandable and utterly complete. How rare it is that a brilliant engineer can actually write.
On top of the incredibly thorough technical content, this book has one thing that most other technical guides do not—personality. The writing style isn't the nor- mal, monotonous style that is found in so many tech books, it is conversational and sometimes even entertaining. The technical merits of the book speak for them- selves—Real world experiences plus the theory behind them. This isn't just a reiteration of the Metaframe XP Admin Guide, it SHOULD BE the Metaframe XP Admin Guide.
